In The Process Of Fitting A Fuel Pump

im just in the preocess of fitting a bosch 040 fuel pump and just have a few quiries,

- does the positive terminal on the fuel pump need to be water proof (completely free from fuel)

- do i need a fuel filter sock over the whole pump

i've already searched the forums, but had no luck, so any extra help will be greatly appreciated
