If someone doesnt end up buying my setup I want to make some changes. I am aim to make 450kw at all four on pump.

The engine is a forged internals RB26 with a RB30 bottom end, all the usual stuff has been done plus o-ringing etc. It has a CR of alomost 9.0:1. The questions I have are:

1) Will a Bosch 044 feeding off a surge tank that is primed by a R33 GTR Fuel pump and 700cc Injectors flow enough?

2) Will the fuel lines require upgrading in diameter?

3) Will a upgraded fuel rail and regualor be needed?

4) What diameter exhaust for a T04Z 0.96 Rear?

5) What type of wastegate ie. Size should I use to allow me to run low boost?

Very nice setup - RB26 Head, Rb30 bottom end, T04Z & to top it off a 9.0:1 compression ratio. This is what I was dreaming about for myself or something very close. Ok more to the point, your questions.

1. Yes a Bosch 044 pump will work, but 2 of them will give you insurance. The standard R33 GTR pump to prime the surge is OK, Ive got the same setup, works fine. 700cc injectors are up to the task and small enough for good atomisation in low rpms.

2. It's a good idea to upgrade to bigger lines, I have 2 bosch 044 pumps from a surge that run -6 lines to the rail. If only using a sigle fuel line, try at least a -10 line.

3. The fuel rail will be needed to allow larger lines to be attached and a fuel reg that rises with pressure - a rising rate fuel reg.

4. The exhaust playes a large part. The larger the better. Now if its a single system, then at least 3.5" all the way & a 2" screamer venting to atmo. This will be loud but its cheaper. If a twin 3" system, then you are able to plump back the screamer and run 2 x mufflers. Nice and quiet.

5. The wastegate size works as so. The smaller it is, the higher minimal boost you are able to run. For example a 30mm wastegate might only allow you to run say min 1.3bar, where something like a 60mm will let you go down to 0.8bar. These are only examples so the largest diameter wastegate will allow the minimal boost settings.

I was thinking of using a Tial 44mm Gate that will allow both high and low boost to be run

For the exhaust I was thinking of a straightrough 3.5" system with a 4" MAGIC Cat and twin mufflers at the rear and I will have the screamer venting to atmo.

The only other question Is what do I do for the ingintion systemy can I use Mercury Coils with the HKS DLI Type 2 or should I stick to the standard units?

A -10 return line is not nessary as its only returning unused fuel back to the tank. Use the standard return line on your car. If you haven't one, use a -6 return line.

Yes 700cc injectors are up to the task. R32-GTS got 468kw on pump fuel with 700cc injectors.

The Tial 44mm might be a bit small. The diameter of the valve that lets out all that extra exhaust gases at low boost setting is - only 44mm. Try getting a 60mm version. This version will allow definately allow low boost.

The Exhaust setup your thinking of will be OK. She'll be breathing well.

Igition systems, can get tricky. Have you got the Mercury coils? Have you got the HKS DLI Type 2? If you don't, I know the HKS item works well and provides good spark. There are also other options like going to a CDI unit but it depends on how far you want to go. The HKS will do the job, and do it well.

As for coils, I bought 6 x Mercury outboard coils, low resistance racing leads and facricated the whole setup for a RB26. You can't imagine the how big and deep the spark is! Only thing is my tuners eyes popped out and he loved the setup as it looked nice and there was good spark but he wouldn't tune my car. He said that the setups he does, he knows them and has plently of R&D with it. So changing something like this, changes the way he tunes and he does not want that and I really want him to tune my engine so off came the Mercury Coils & leads and that nice fabricating I did. They will be up in the for sale sections soon. Anyway ask your tuner first if he will tune your car with these on.

hey mate, sounds interesting

so whats the new setup? any particular reason y he doesnt want to use the mercury coils and leads, besides him being unfamiliar with them?

any more info appreciated adam, is their problems with the setup or just precaution for his piece of mind?

Hi Brad,

I thought you might get worried, don't be :D

He will tune my car to make the power I want and everything else. He knows all the parts I've used and how I setup the engine, as it was done with his guildance. He hasn't used these Mercury Coils and would rather stick with the Spitfire Coils I have. He knows them, his tried them and likes the concept of coil over plug as he personally hates leads.

Besides all that, what he says I do! Maybe lame but he is to me "da man"! :D

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that 
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
