Cubes
A few of the games currently support dual core. Age of Empires IIIBattlefield 2 Battlefield 2: Special Forces Black & White 2 Call of Duty 2 City of Villains by NCSoft F.E.A.R. by Vivendi (allegedly enabled, but real world no real performance increase to FPS, tho it still performs) Peter Jackson’s King Kong Quake 4 Quake 5 (promised when released) Serious Sam 2 by Croteam The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (on pre-order) The Movies Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland Vangauard Saga of Heros World of Warcraft So slowly its getting there. Bl4cK32
I like the fact i can run more than 1 thing without slowing down too. Im always on the net with like 3 or so windows open, and it pisses me off i have to switch between window and have to wait for other programs to finish before i can do something else... It might be due to the fact im still using a p3 800 I have found a complete asetek watercooling setup with 1/2" tubing (cpu/gpu/chipset blocks) with 2x120mm rad/fans for $200 as well so overclocking is a definite I'll set the thing up first and see how it goes before i install it and push it... With regards to gpu's....can someone confirm vivo - video in, video out? The price has come down, and some have this feature on em, just wondering if its worth having?? Cubes
I've had a play with a dual core system. Once you use one you will never want to go back. I quite often encode video, backup dvd's and what not while surfing the net or doing home work compiling large java programs etc. A single processor system really slows down to the point where the video display updates like your running an old trident 9660 vid card. Push the x2 3800+ to a nice safe 2400mhz (x2 4600+ speed) on air and be happy with it. Cubes
keep draging it up, were all good Ive already got some bits for mine, so i should be assembling soon yay i think a sau lan should be on the cards....who has a good connection, so we can go online too! I have a nice dsl2 connection that has 1mb upstream. With internode soon to offer annex-m upstream rates should boost nicely. Annex-m trades upstream for downstream, for this application its would be well worth it. The one issue is my dsl modem/router is only a 4 port + wireless so we would need to run possibly another router or two off a couple of the ports to achieve a total number 8+ ports. Really depends how many ppls there would be as to how many routers we need. I can't see any problems running another router (4port) off one of the dsl modem ports, I haven't tried it though. Would be awesome to jump in to bf2 and kick some arse, basically cheating. lol But realistically, I doubt we would need to connect to the inet to play a decent multiplayer game, there's the free LFS to play online plus many others. I have a nice room that could be setup with tables around the sides of the room. I estimate around 8-10 ppls can fit in there depending on what I move around. Yeah it does work Just make sure they don't try and assign themselves the same IP address if they are both routers.
