I recently had a good experience with a DOA antec psu in an 4480 antec case with MSY.

Basically powered it up once turned it off then it wouldn't power up again. Tested the psu and it was definitely stuffed.

So i called them up dropped the case off they tested it and gave me another; no fuss no questions all done.

I've been fairly lucky with DOA computer bits over the years. The last DOA I had was 2 sticks of DDR corsair ram.

been having a look at some ferrari 430 software this weekend. Some pretty in depth stuff there. Unfortunately it had a mind of its own and seemed to take control of the car. in qualifying it was controling the brakes when it wanted to brake (not that helpful down the straights when the cars brakes are locked on) and the in the races it decided that it would go into neutral instead of the gear it was meant to - see what happens when you rely to much on computers.....

it makes you ferrari slow!!!!!

oh and i found the laptop i want, the Lamborghini Asus specially developed to work with the Gallardo software and diagnostic tools. it has a sexy carbon outer case with the raging bull embossed into the top

On the 2nd episode of Blood, Sweat and Gears the guy in the Ferrari spun it on a slalom course, and the car ECU shut the car down as the wheels span and it turned too violently. They had to get a Ferrari tech to reset the ECU to start the car again! Definitely far too much computer 'control' for me - who would want such a thing?

My mate had the ECU reset and had the software reinstalled 3 times over the 4 days. I like the ferrari dash read out, very classy in red and black, then you walk up to the historic's that still have these funny dial things on the dash to show them how fast they are going

during the race this morning one of the 430's ECU shut down and they had to restart it, once they did that the car went into limp home mode which wasn't very good during a race.

Ferraris and computers obviously dont mix too well. Keith Wong had some serious issues on Thursday & Friday because his 360 has 3 computers (2 engine management and 1 driveline). One for eack bank so it sees it as 2 separate engines. The thing kept shifting into 'Limp Mode" everytime he hammered the rev limiter. So by trying to stay off it meant he couldn't go as fast. You cant even plug a laptop into the thing unless you've got the unit that can communicate with the ECU and thats in Melbourne.

No wonder the Porsches keep giving it to the Ferraris and they don't break down anywhere near as much. Keith had a gut full and was tempted to bring out the Porsche that he did well in last year. Poor bloke probably regrets buying this thing.

Keiths car from last year is no longer eligible to run in the series. The 360 Challenge is a good car of you have it sorted right finished 4th in last years event in front of some much higher rated drivers. Marc Eddy is happy that he upgraded it to the Gallardo though (3rd outright for the weekend) i had a quick look at the Gallardo's data collection software and hardware today. You can either plug the laptop into the car or you can remove the memory from the ECU and tale it over to the laptop (what eve is easiest).

and here i was thinking Keith was just cruising trying to get used to his new car

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
