Hey guys and girls,

I know I'm only new to the forum and I've only had my car a few weeks but I have decided to sell.

1988 R31 GTS-X import *UNCOMPLIED* Very Cheap / Easy to comply. Bought in under 15 year rule.

Only done 77,000 GENUINE kilometres,

Was to be my drifter, but its too nice a car to destroy. Besides, my financial planner (READ: GIRLFRIEND) would like me to get a 4-door car. :P

Body is in excellent condition considering it's age, Few small dents and scratches, damage on roof from shipping, slight damage on front bar before it arrived (FIXED, just requires minor paint) Was in pretty poor shape when i first took ownership, but with 50000000 coats of polish she came up quite nice. Also arrived with GTS-R rear wing

Interior is immacculate.

List of mods include...

Later model ECCS engine, (comp even across the board, just serviced, Never had power run on dyno, just to check AFR's)

HKS Pod filter

Standard computer and turbo (10 psi, no shaft play or oil leaks)

Alloy Inlet pipe

All head studs replaced, exh. manifold machined, new gaskets (All done by ET)

S5 RX7 fuel pump

Stealth Garrett FMIC with Piping and Turbosmart V-Port BOV

RAZO t/timer

2x OBX Fixed Race seats (Only one put in car ATM to replace shitty fiberglass seat car came with)

Probably more... cant think of anything else ATM

Comes with the following parts:

S5 RX7 550 cc injectors, cleaned and flow tested

NEW Monza alloy radiator catch can

NEW Greddy T/Timer

NEW alloy Bosch 044 fuel pump mount

probably a few more...

I was hoping for around $8700, as ive probably spent $6000 - $8000 on it, and its cleaner than some examples ive seen getting around, but as it's uncomplied i cant ask too much.

(Although Going price for a standard one is $7500 - $8000.)

I will not seperate anything from the car, and I would like to sell it to someone in adelaide if possible, as thats where it has to be complied im pretty sure.

Will supply ALL necessary paperwork and standard springs for compliance.

Got a quote for $800 to comply and take through regency from Lam @ A-JAP imports. (Its only a small buisness but he's really good AND quick)

Will put up photos in the next day or so, just as soon as i get hold of a camera, but as I would like to sell it in Adelaide, Adelaide people can just come and look at it

PRICE - $8700 ONO

Located in Adelaide,

Ring BEN on (08) 8443 6641 or 0422 081 905

Not really....

rims - silvia or other,

susp. Have stock springs, just need standard front struts

fmic is legal due to standard piping

exh. isnt really loud, still has a cat.

still has standard computer and ALL emissions gear

just needs side intruision bars, unleaded fuel filler neck, flat R.V. mirror glass, and rear seatbelt and child restraint points if it is to be registered as a 4 seater.

Besides, Lam has a r31 coupe there already (which he wants $6000 for and its pretty heavily damaged) and last time i spoke to him he said he'd probably use standard stuff off that one.

and the quote he gave me was for dropping it off, picking it up in a fortnight complied, go get plates from motor reg.

easy.

Will remove rims and stereo and sell for $6000. Reall do want to sell

And that quote from Lam basically meant whoever buys it doesn't have to do any work, just drop it off and pick it up again...

The used car market is dead in the arse...along with the property market. Too many people over committed financially in your target market and due to the lack of proper jobs for people now (a lot of contract and part time employees) And overwhelming personal debt.

You will struggle to sell it.

No your not doing anything wrong.....

maybe complying it may help....

If I had the cash, I would comply it. But i dont, and that's part of the reason I'm selling it.

Im flexible on price, and I've offered to comply it here if someone really wants it.

Oh well, see how we go.

Cheers for the input. :)

hey

have you advertised this car anywhere else, ive sold some uncomplied cars in the trading post before, and got a pretty good price for them.

sometimes people are scared to buy a car that isnt registed, but i dont know why, cause its not that hard to get a 15 year old import rego'd

somebody will buy that car soon, cause the price is very good, so dont worry bout it.

can you email me lams new mobile number, i tried his old one its its not on anymore.

thankyou

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
