On that note of ECU's and motor swaps...

The series 2 motor doesn't run the ignitor on the top of it, it's run from the ECU. How did your mechanic get around this? Swap ECU's, or do something funky with another ignitor?

That is not right, the ignition amplifier is built into each coil on a series 2, not the ECU. The ignition output stage of a series 1 and 2 ECU are exactly the same. That is why there is only one version of the PFC for the R33 RB25DET.

I would be checking the ECU for fault codes, also check that the knock sensors are working and plugged into the ecu.

I have a feeling the guy who sold me the motor was taliking it up because i found the ignition ignitor on top of the head so it musnt be a series two motor i guess.

Sorry to shoot you guys down in flames! hahah. You seemed so proud of yourselves too.

Is throttle response a bit slower with a front mount added to a rb25det?

I have to get this thing looked at. Its hard finding a good mechanic on the gold coast aswell. I find it hard to trust them after having my dad fix all my cars in the past.
