I'm in the same camp, although I would still like a set of wheels (and suspension lowering) to add to my car.

I like the whole street-sleeper thing - as far as visuals goes, that's probably all I'll do externally. And any internal mods will have to serve a purpose without standing out too much as well. Stealth stereo upgrades are on my to-do list, as well as some Defi black-face gauges (or similar) in a DIN holder, and the rest of my spending will go into performance work.

My car has a standard front bar, but no side or rear skirts or rear wing. But that's fine, as apart from the ride height I love the way it looks!

Once again, congrats on getting the car going, you've obviously put a lot of time and effort into it!

Brad, I have friends of the family living in Bayswater, are you anywhere near that?

hey mate my house is the opposite side of perth, right up north near joondalup which is around 100km from bayswater. thanks for the comments too.

and alex well to get it on was easy as, as my driveway is sloping down to the road, so when the trialer is halfway down the driveway, the trailer is level with the garage floor area :P the trailer does have a winch too to pull it up, but we just pushed it, though once at the worshop to unload it and we had trouble with it being soo low, and the ramps were on a huge angle and the exhuast and chassis bottomed out so we tried to pull it back on and the the muffler gets caught on the trailer edge so we were spewing, but luckily we had 2 longer planks to make the angle of the ramps alot less and it just managed to get it off with a little scraping :)

oh another note is my stagea is exactly the same length as my vs commodore and wheel base the same too which is suprising, and i got a trailer first off that had ramps that flicked up in the air at the back rather than the pull off ones that are stored underneath and the car was wayyy too long to fit with the ramps up.

cheers

Brad

hey wildcat thanks for the support, well i just rang em again and now not till monday at the earliest, which im not happy about in the slightest, with around 70K of car sitting in their workshop all weekend, i hate perth, all the businesses are sooo damn useless and unreliable its killing me. 3 different shops and 3 damn problems, arhhhh i cant believe the crap i have been put through. :(

my car hasnt even been touched by the workshop as the race cars get first preference and i goto the back of the line, which is damn wrong. who on earth knows how to tune autronics and isnt f**kin useless at customer service, no one in perth thats for sure.

sorry for the sour attitude im just flaming at the moment over the situation :(

that is sh!t house Brad...you would have thought that if it was only an hours job they would have done yours nice and early and had the rest of the day to do the race cars...alot of Perth business are great at what they do but lack Customer service i think alot rely on the fact that if its a good job youll come back to them...with that being said though there is a lot of business's out there that are good in both customer service and the job they do!!

anyways i will keep doing my happy dance until monday...then you must tell me what you get!!

good luck buddy

well their might be good businesses but not dealing with my ecu and have the correct knowledge for my car, cause everyone seems to be an amatuer and thats y ive done 99.9% of the work at home to save dealing with slow arse businesses. machining taking 23 weeks was the biggest laugh, and the 2 shops involved thought they did great service to me, sooo maybe im in too much of a rush :(

anyway enough whinging, im not thinkin bout it anymore, gets me frustrated :(

just a quick note that it aint gonna go on the dyno on monday only a quick road tune, and i can only rev to 4000rpm max or so and no boost until the 1000km run in is done, then rebook it in and tune for around 450-500rwhp for the moment until i get used to the power and then back on in the near future for a full power tune on around 25-28psi, and hoping to push the limit of that little t04z to around 650rwhp or so, which the tuner says wont be very difficult at all with the engine setup. i need some cash to buy a stronger gearbox and i'd be set for sure :) i want to run a 10 in this stagea if its the last thing i do (with 650rwhp and os giken gearset or other aftermarket gearbox)

cheers

Brad

Awesome work Brad, must take alot of patience :(

One thing i have noticed though, what type of hose clamps are you using for the cooler piping? Caus last thing u'd want is a cooler pipe blowing off on boost...

cheers mate, yer they are the cheapy ones but im gonna try em and see, the piping is pretty secure as it is, and i had them from previously running 18psi on highflows and no trouble. i just aint bothered to get the bigger ones until i have too. :( all the big ones seem to be stainless steel casing and a zinc coated bolt which looks shit, i want s/s for the whole lot to polish em :) oh and ive had a cooler pipe blow off b4 cause it wasnt tightened properly on 18psi and it made the mess of tearing the insulation stuff off the underside of my bonnet as u can see in the pic, looks shitty now with it ripped :(

thanks

Brad

We are thriving on our oppositions attitude and experiance in WA so i can understand your frustration,Tho your tuner is very good at his job.

Lane is so busy because his well liked with the rally mob for good reason.Does make it tough on road customers but the rally work is his bread and butter.

Take your time Brad and get it right. Don't rush to show it off, it will get there when it is ready. I know it is frustrating, but nothing good comes easy, particulary when it comes to highly modified cars.

:P cheers :)

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
