Ryanvlsl,

Mate maybye you should think beter of yourself? You probably are an ok fella. You deserve a car with a nice interior man.

Have you ever blown an interior light and not replaced it because you dont want to be reminded of how crap your car looks in the inside when you get in and out of it?

hahahahahahaha

Ouch mate, you seriously hurt my feelings, oh no I think im on the verge of comiting suicide because some guy called my interior crap, oh no son of rajab save me from this bad man. :D

<sarcasm>

Seriously mate, I know VL interiors arent the best, but do you seriously think I care if my interior doesnt look as good as other cars?

Coupe-This: I have heard of ULOOKD before, I saw it at Summernats. :P

I'm not a fan of the VL Aeros though, not big on VLs with bodykits.

Also, yeah I dont know what kind of purpose this thread had as it is a Skyline forum after all, it would be alot like going onto a Holden site and asking whether to buy a Commodore or a Falcon.

So then the thread starter and RyanVLSL should get jiggy in a spa and set their interiors on fire while driving off a cliff..

Hahahahah nice.

BTW if anyone is wondering, im just having a muck around in this thread, no one should take this shit to heart aye.

ryan,

Man I actually quite like vl's despite all the sledging. My best mate is in the process of striping one and painting it candy red. He is dropping in a rb35det and a stall converter and a dog box of some sort. Very nice custom stereo in boot, about 4 pairs of splits. Full Aero kit, hsv 18 inch wheels, on air bags. Will be a very nice car and give mine a run for its money.

Sorry dude, just bored and trying to stir people up. Have to admit I got Ya?

Meh its cool.

I'm just having a dig, because I knew you Skyline fellas would dig back.

Its all in good fun, but I still think this thread was pointless from the begining.

i am a fan of VLs, having owned a modified turbo one previously. its clear though, that alot of people in here are 100% Jap orientated and the thought of a Commodore would make them sick, clearly trying to compare one (a commo) to a SKyline in a Skyline forum was never gonna work.... and no doubt on CalaisTurbo.com they will say the opposite.

go have a look at both cars, pick the pros n cons from each and buy what best suits u and your budget, coz F*CK ALL people on here are going to tell you to buy a Commodore over a Skyline.....

2c added

A lot of people including myself until my friend showed me a few figures, magazines forget also the vl's pertential.

A rb30det with a few induction freeing mods ets and a bit of boost is a fair bit quicker than what a r32 or r33 would be with similar mods.

They are not as heavy as what people think and the extra cubes with a few mods compensates more than enough for the lack of double overhead cams etc.

But, I personally like my car but before my other mate told me about turbo cars, i alway wanted to do up a vl or vs as a kid. I really wanted a black v8 vs, tinted, stereo etc.

anywho.....

Just to clear this one up.....

thats from factory..

If you had taken a few seconds to read the text in the (my) image (thanks for not crediting me) that you posted, you would have found that Nissan had nothing to do with anything but the base production of these 3 vehicles.

The Peter Jackson Nissan Racing Team, under the direction of Fred Gibson have prepared 3 unique Nissan road cars.

These cars were not "factory turbo".

The pace cars in question were also not "factory turbo".

If you wish to carry on the rather pointless debate of whether Nissan Australia produced any factory turbo R31's, please start a thread in the "classic skylines" section.

This thread is now locked, at thread starters request.

    • (it is a brand new ported mellings pump) I suspect the lack of pressure is due to the leak. It was *not* that low in other logs of oil pressure in the past. It wasn't that hot either, but not far off.
    • Would a Mellings oil pump be a viable option  From my time with a LS, and talking to tuners and LS specialists, the "weak" OEM oil pump is one of the first things they recommend to swap out if I was going to give the engine any high RPM I opted for a Mellings high volume, with the high pressure springs and I never had a issue with it Cost wise they are not expensive in the scheme of things
    • Just bought a 2002 Stagea 250tRS VR-X Four AERO VQ25DET and spent the last two weekends cleaning and detailing it.. still have to do the wheels and the engine bay but the rest of it came up nice. Imported 2011 to S.A. and I'm the third owner since it was imported. I met the guy who brought it over, he went to Japan and picked out the car, bought it and ordered the wheels. He also gave me a list of stuff he did to the car with receipts. Coil overs (I have the original springs), 3" exhaust from the dump pipe back no cat, Custom dump pipe,(I have the original exhaust), Plenum spacer, 18" custom Work XSA wheels (need restoring, I've made a start..), Shift kit put through the 5 speed tiptronic auto, TV and menus/screens changed to english, Australian DTV tuner installed in rear. I've just had four new discs and new pads as well as all the fluids including the brake fluid replaced. I have all the receipts for the last 15 years and the import papers in a nice folder. Car looks great, goes like hell but fuel economy is not a thing lol.. pics next..
    • I ended up in this rut again lol, and used a shit ton of filler. One thing I can't understand is, even after using a big long block and going in long X pattern strokes, I always end up at bare metal again with no filler, and my repair started at one end of the door and now I've chased my tail to almost the other end of the door. I was thinking of hitting the panel with a hammer where it might be a high spot and making everything low then filling it, I did this on a small section on my other door by mistake and I think I fixed it lol. Is this a bad idea? The other thing is with guidecoat, whether it's the powder or spray, after I sand all the guide coat off, it doesn't reveal anything for me in terms of high spots and low spots and makes it especially hard when it's bare metal (at least in powdered form), am I doing something wrong here, or likely a high spot I keep going over and creating valleys? Lastly, stupid question but, is it possible that after sanding if I only sand over the filler area where I know to be a dent that it's impossible for me to dig into that dent? Unless there are other problems which I missed.
