I talked to my brother about that one.........

well done

Q: does it come with log books etc, or have those kms been wound back a bit (hence the price)

Very nice, well done, crazy price for an S2. A little clean up and it will look great, now enjoy the wait... That is the worst bit by far, I hope you get lucky and get it on a ship soon!

Cheers

Luke

as craig says - nothing ... always trust the sales person, especially the one with no liability if something goes wrong (TRUST ME wink wink experiance wink, they dont have any liability if the cars a lemon)

mike, sorry, dont mean to ruin your excitement. I am sure it will turn out fine in the end.

Not guaranteeing that it is perfect or that there isn't something wrong with it but I did see a few similar S2 Sale prices at auction when I was searching. I think if they have high KM's are pretty stock and a little rough around the edges they can be extremely hard to sell in the Japanese market, so I think it is a plausible price. Bargain if it works out pretty much.

Luke

True - all the best with it. So what if it costs a grand here and there to fix up a couple of minor issues, a bargain either way you look at it.

Considering that 12months ago S2 were minimum 19k private or 26k car yard.

i apreciate the input alex now how DO you spell pesimist lol

No in all seriousness its pretty cheap; I guess just have a few dollars set aside "just in case". Thats all. Hell - a 25k Stagea with GTR engine and gearbox sounds pretty good to me ! :)

When I bought mine for 18k I had 5k set aside for repairs if needed, and once I knew it wasnt needed the mods began! LOL

Pessimist

haha nice.

i think all he's saying mike is that it is an odd-ish find, be wary. no harm in that. there's a difference between pessimism and caution.

i doubt the car will have dramas, i cant remember who said it, but yes it will be just because of its higher kms, and that fact that some are for sale with kms as low as 19. to sell one which such comparitively high kms, price needs to be low.

i saw similar cars just abandoned in japan, cos its cheaper than having them crushed, and less hassle than selling.

yeah i think a lot of people that import and get exactly what they thought they were getting dont know just how lucky they are. can be stressful, but can be very worthwhile.

if there are any issues, im sure we will all jump onboard to help out, anyway.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
