Sorry, I should have been more specific. Was it in a car yard in Japan (that J-Spec contacted), or did J-Spec bid on it for you at auction in Japan?

Cheers :w00t:

It was with a dealer/caryard

A few days earlier I payed 390,000 FOB for a series 1 98 dayz model with 109k's from auction

wow thats incredible - less than 12.5k landed and complied... that devalues mine a lil bit then ey. Its done more than 3x the distance mine had, though, i guess.

Oh and it has the DAYZ kit... ive noticed that the grey ones are generally a lil bit cheaper, theres a lot more of them.

How would it go being complianced though, having had a manual conversion, big wheels, exhaust and suspension? what do you have to do with that?

most things have to be put back to standard....mine is just a dayz 97 model which had wheels and sports suspension and i had to get standard rims and i had to borrow stock suspension off another stagea driver to get it over compliance! (which is still going..2 and half weeks later) I think it also really depends on your compliance place, but majority of them return the car to 'stock' :P

So what they have to put an auto back into it????

hmm i dont see the point of buying a "race import only" stagea if that is the case. says 12,100 landed and complied... how accurate is that, then?

Sounds like buying a modified car can be more trouble than its worth, even one as cheap as this. May be that is why its cheap. hassle-tax.

i would have no idea about the manual..hopefully they would let that through :

as for the 12,100 landed and complied i dont think that would be too close to the mark...cause that is just standard compliance that doesnt take into account taking parts off getting standard parts fitting those and then putting the others back one...hopefully the compliance shop wouldnt take advantage and charge a fortune...

i tell you mine was 10600 landed and complied and i am going to hit about 13k so it was a little off the mark for mine too, but that is because of my extras that had to be taken off and put back on and find stock parts etc!

Wildcat

The shop doing my compliance has stock parts in the shop ie shocks, wheels, exhaust

Only charges $50/hr to remove and replace if needed, so maybe 2-4 hrs if needed

Also, what does the WA shop charge for compliance out of interest?

I was quoted $13,800 landed and complied

Will be $13,450 landed and complied

yeah darrin if i did go to brisbane i think i wouldnt have had much dramas as bretts (MrGTST) seemed to have no problems and was pretty much what we were told.

WA is more expensive than brissie...but with all of the extras they are charging i think i will be the 5k mark just to get the bloody thing complied! The only reason why it came to wa is because it was suppose to be here 3 weeks before bretts was....and brett got his yesterday :P I think mine will be able 13k on the road ready to go

    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
