Since ive had my GTR its been a bad cold start car. If the car has been sitting for more than 8hours the car wont idle by itself without stalling. The car has 264 degree cams and a Apexi Power FC.

I have to sit and rev the car at 1500-2000RPM for about 2-3mins until it comes up to temp, then it'll idle by itself. Has anyone else had any trouble like this? Is it something i shouldnt have to put up with?

Cheers.

If its a 33 gts-t the coldstart valve is located under the throttle body. Just trace the idle bypass pipes from the inlet pipes further up the intake to the AAC on the back of the inlet plenum, and out of there to the coldstart valve.

As for the R32 Gtr, I am unsure.

Its always done this since i bought it. I noticed that the 3 times i took it for a test drive from the dealership it was allready warmed up, so started for me fine on the 3 seperate occasions.

Ive actually just tried driving off while its still warming up, and the car backfires a lot, hunts badley, revs as rough as guts, and most times stalls itself, even when up to speed.

3-4mins of warming it up, and its like a butter smooth stock GTR.

Im guessing the Power FC in it hasnt been tuned for cold start good enough?

Does the Apexi Power FC replace the stock GTR ECU or work with it?

Does anyone know which is responsible for cold starts?

The PowerFC is a complete replacement ecu.

If you remove the passenger kick panel you should see immediately if it is actually a PowerFc installed in the car.

To fix the cold start values, you will either need to get a hold of someone with a hand controller or the datalogit laptop software to change the values. It sounds to lean on cold start if its stalling.

Its rather simple to change the values if you know what you are doing, so a workshop that does imports or tuning should be able to help you out easily.

A search for PowerFC should bring up the FAQ for them and im sure had suggested values in there for better cold start.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
