how you going guys,

since ive had my skyline ive had a little bit of problems with idle missfiring i can still here little noises inside the motor under load (TING TING TING not misfiring nor pinging) blah blah, ive fix most of it with the power fc but since the motor is old i was thinking of doing a basic rebuilding mahcining rings polish a few things to it i know its alot of work but what do you all this would it do the RB25 any good?

hey bud, im in the process of rebuilding mine atm, putting in forged pistons, metal head gasket new race bearings and a gasket kit and thats it, just boring the block out too. if you want a basic rebuild thats all you have to do really. should make over 300kw no worries with my gt3040.

^^that's pretty much what I did when it was rebuild time (bar the metal head gasket, Nissan one is fine IMHO) HOWEVER i do regret not sourcing some GTR rods... I just prepped the stock GTSt rods and stuck them back in there... GTR rods are cheap as chips and will give you peace of mind when your up over 300rwkw and if you want to raise the revlimit above 7000rpm

What are you two on about?

He is wanting to rebuild because of a mis-fire because its "old"... define old for me :blink:

Dude, no need to rebuild unless the engine is fruited.

Have you done a leak down test yet to confirm there are issues?

If not, then i suggest you do.

No point wasting money, it wont do the motor any good unless the above test tells you there is a problem
