Just wondering were the any legal dramas with the conversion? Did you need and engineers cert? How was insuring it with the new engine? I ask because i would love to do the same thing with a 32.

Thanks Kev :)

Have to catch up soon.

Things were quite simple with the engine conversion.

All I had to do was get a letter from a Nissan Dealership stating

that the RB25 came in the R32 which a select few did and then take the letter to vic roads and they updated their system and sent me a new rego sticker.

I was told that if the motor came out in that model an engineers certificate is not required. Thats why the letter from Nissan was needed to confirm.

Hope that helps

Mark

Hi Kev,

Yes I will be more than happy to help you try out Damo's remapped Ecu.

Anytime you like I will make the time.

It was remapped by Dr Drift whom is on these forums.

The map is for a basic set up ie. exhaust, cooler bit more boost etc...

From memory its about a 15kw at the wheels gain.

You will like the SSS its a 99 model, metalic blue and very very clean.

Its just what I need something smaller, more practical and economical.

Talk to you soon

Ciao

Well i did the exact opposite....from a 2001 pulsar to 96 R33. Petrol might cost a bit more but its so worth it...

Obviously the Skyline is a better car all round, although at

the moment my priorities are different.

I am after something quiet, soft on the road, more economical and

I want to start saving $$$ for a house.

I found a really nice metalic blue pulsar sss which I should be getting

next week hopefully and at least it has an sr20.

:P

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
