Hey all,

Welly welly well... i just installed whiteline swaybars and i'm very happy with the results.

Now, I am getting an alignment tomorrow and I was planning on having them try to get as close to SK's recommended settings as possible:

Front Camber -1.00

Front Caster 7.00

SAI 9.00

Front Toe 0.00

Rear Camber -0.5

Rear Toe 2.00 mm in on each side

However, I am worried about the wear that these settings will induce on the inner part of my tyres because i'm poor and don't wanna be up for more tyres. Can anyone give me an estimation on what I should expect in the next 6 months/year with the above settings in terms of tyre wear?

Cheeeeeeeeers

Sam

rear will depend on angle once the car has power thru the drivetrain and it 'squats' unless ur hwy crusing this will be an issue, with ur car relatively stock u wont tear rear tyres apart ...

with such little camber you wont have that much different expectations i wouldnt think. Hopefully some one with an r32 can offer you some help. The problem would most likely also be more severe on wider tyres

Hi Sam, it depends on where you drive and how you drive. If you drive like a little old lady and only on the freeway/highway then you will get a little more inside tyre wear. If you drive like a maniac, don't slow down for corners and seek out winding roads (avoid the freeways) then you will wear out the outside of the tyres.

If you drive like a normal Skyline owner (sporty, briskly) on a mixture of roads, then the tyres will wear perfectly. Which is why I recommend those settings for the average Skyline driver.

:P cheers ;)

  • 1 month later...

This thead rocks!!

I have just installed the GB suspension kit and had the car setup to the reccomended settings in my R32 GTS-t.

I was searching for the exact same answer!

BTW, the car handles AWESOMELY with everything installed and setup!!!!!! Thanks SK

I use 2 degrees negative camber on the front and drive fairly hard but I think the highway km's I do have contributed to some inner tyre wear. That said it's not outrageous. The tyres need replacing anyway.

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
