Well so today i had a day off work, as my son is sick, and somone had to look after him.

For some time now i have had my Flyen 3" dump sitting on the floor looking at me.

So today i decided to fit in on, and well it was easy, but i guess having all the tools i have helpes, allthough i did have to cut a 13mm spaner in 2 so that i culd get to a bolt at the back with a small bar on it.

All the bolts were soaked in WD40 for about 20 minuts, then one buy one, they came off, non snaped.

I removed the old pipe and then put on the new one, all fitted up no probs, nice and clean.

I also found that my car had a brand new CATCO or something like that high flow cat, so i decided to keep it and not gut it. The new pipe sounds heaps better, there is a lot more noise of the turbo out the exhaust and it picks up heaps more, also my boost, being stock at 7 psi, is now about 8.2psi.

The overall response is heaps better, and the car pulls harder. I love it.

PS. for anyone doing this, your car is not on fire, it;s just a tin of WD40 burning off. LOL.

NOw for the coller which has been on the floor for 3 weeks, and the fuel pressure reg and so on.

YEEEHHHAAAA

What has other peoples outcome in power been when changing pipes?????????

Hey Mate,

I have a S2 R33 GTS25T with a 3" catback, a pod + Boost solenoid mod "http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42895&hl="

Check this out - its an awesome mod for stock boost settings-

I am looking for my next mod, but dont particularly want to go FMIC first. Looks like 3" hiflow cat and Dump pipe is going to be next.

How much did the dump pipe cost you and what type did u choose? I am considering a split type pipe.

Cheers,

Christian.

I have already remove the stock boost controller, but had the aftermarket one set to 7, but now it seams to have gone up.

I went for the bellmouth one from flyen performance on this forum, it is one pice from turbo to cat, and it cost $229. see them under trade sellers

If fitted up well, only catch is, one of the bolts needs to be put in the dump first and then the dump put into the turbo, as there is not much room to spin the bolt.

I love it, i need to get the cooler on a PFC and my new turbo,

WHY, because i can. LOL

so who was looking after your son while you were under the car?

i wouldnt trust Big bird and kermit - I have heard them stoned .... infact they smoked soo much that kermit thought the "f*ck you" was a number....

well seing as he was sick, he had a big sleep, but basically, put him in the playpen and put on the wiggllleeesss, and all good, then he went to sleep and no probs.

LOL.

Got a chance to drive the car more today, and definatly made a differance to my car, more go, better response and shifted the turbo spool up time.

now to have enough time for the cooler to get installed

    • Man, different parts but the same numbers is terrible @dbm7! And it doesn't help that most online shops don't list the part numbers at all. They just give a list of compatible models...
    • Slow when hot could also be because its getting more dynamic compression, OR things are getting a bit tighter once it is all expanded. If it were an earthing issue, typically I'd expect you to have it have issues all the time. Unless it's really a combination of both things. Where the higher compression, and things being a bit tighter, is giving that bit of extra load and you do need a slight clean up on the cables/connections.
    • Yeah, this is one of the most annoying things about nissan part numbers... I've got an unrelated example... Image is of the AT output shaft ~ they have the same part#, but clearly the shaft on the left is beefier design to that on the right ...the difference (essentially) is the 'lighter' shaft on the right, is for engines up to RB25DE (this includes RB20 variants) : the shaft on the left is for RB25/26DET(T)....are they interchangeable? Yes...but obviously one shaft is going to be stronger than the other...and, the lighter shaft is around USD115, but the heavier shaft closer to USD150...same part#... ...epc-data usually tells a tale ~ the amayama listing for 39100-23U60 has a note "Longest side is between 60 and 105 cm" ; no such info is there for 39100-23U70 ...and given the great disparity in price between the 2 parts, it makes me at least curious (to the point of caution) where the 'extra money' went? ...ie; these 2 parts have a cost difference that (to myself at least) isn't explained by 'plastic boot'...ie; with amayama there's AUD700 price difference ...plastic versus rubber?...I'm not seeing it like that...and 60cm ~ 105cm...??...that's a huge disparity....something hinky going on here... I'd try searching by VIN, not model... /2cents
    • I don't know for sure, but I'd expect them all to be interchangeable given the diff end and hub end don't move/change between any C34 series. Often Nissan will change part numbers and the aftermarket follows those year ranges; but the original part number change doesn't mean other parts won't fit. The change could be a change in material, internal parts or even just supplier. For example, all the RB gearbox to engine bolts are no longer available and there is a new part number instead. The only change is they went from cadmium plated bolts to zinc plated due to the issues manufacturing with Cadmium. They look different but work the same.
