Hi all, the names Ben Rogers. First time post-er, long time reader.

Im after an R33 GTS-T, '95 model, auto, stock standard with around 130000k on the clock.

The seller tells me that theyre a brilliant car (and who'se to argue there), he's a a mature age, and has owned the car for the past 5 years.

I asked him if there was anything major that needs to be done to the car in the near future. Generally, a nice ' no' would be the desired answer, but he has told me that the crank (possibly crankshaft?) has been replaced once before and will need it in the not-too-distant future.

Can anyone help me here? Does this normally happen? Ive ehard theyre upwards of $1000 new and i relly dont want a car thats gonna chew a grand of metal every 2 years...

Asking price is $9500 neg.

Thanks,

Ben

Replacing the crankshaft is not a general maintenance item.

Generally, you only need to replce one if the engine has suffered from oil starvation in which case you will have more problems than just replacing the crank - like replacing all moving parts of the engine - if severe enough.
