hehehe don't worry I'm about to hit 120,000 kays..

still trying to decide whether to sell and get a newer model/lower kays....or spend a bit of money (since I've basicly spent nothing so far, except for servicing etc)....yes, emotional attachment sucks :P

These cars seem pretty reliable as the kays climb. I've seen plenty of turbo Skylines over 120,000 km. Some things wear out like suspension, fuel pumps etc but they are not major things like engines! I think if they are kept serviced with regular oil changes then they should last years.

My old R32 GTS-t was a bit crook towards the end (126,000) only because I fed it 91 octane all the time. My current R33 is going strong and about to hit 85,000...got it at 35,000 (I learned and now only feed it >95 fuel)

Over here in NZ, Brenhan has a GTS-t that is still doing hard service at 200,000 km+, and Kai's GT-R (which has had more drag meets than I've had beers) finally got a new engine at approx 160,000 km.

My sister's Ciefiro (RB20E) still runs sweet as a nut at 180,000km.

Counter this with my last v8, needed a rebuild at 130,000km...and the one before that was rebuilt 3 times over it's 260,000 life (I hear it's still registered)

    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    • I would tend to agree, especially based on the transfer oil being completely cooked by the sounds of it. I bet it was serviced every 5,000km... Which probably worked out to once every 15,000 real kms...
