Hey guys,

I have an RB25DET w/ the RB25 tranny all swapped into my R32. Clutch is an ATS twin plate carbon.

A month ago my pedal started to make a squeeking noise every time i pressed the clutch down, and when it let it back up.

Last week, my clutch pedal bracket snapped while driving! I brought it to my guys' shop and the fixed it. Welded it back together and reinforced the s$%t out of it.

It was quite an easy fix, put it back in and cha-ching! It's working again.

A few days later, the squeeking noise came back. Now my main concern right now is that the squeeking noise is associated with the bracket breaking. Would that be true????

Or is the noise just from the stress of having a heavy twin plate ATS clutch??

[edit]

Oh, i forgot to mention i am not talking about the plates chattering.

It's actually noise coming from the pedal.

IE// if you have the car off and step on the clutch pedal, it would make a creeking / squeeking noise.

i have a similar problem. Nismo single plate strengthened push type clutch cover, rb25det, 4wd. A few days ago the pedal begin to produce a squeeking/creekingsound especially after warm-up.

i don`t have a solution yet.

I also have the same problem but on my RB20DET gearbox. I believe it is one of the thrust or spigot bearings in the gearbox (mine is the spigot because it only creaks when u move the pedal) whereas if its when the clutch pedal is released and ur not touching it, then it is usually the thrust bearing. Not Sure tho....Any experts care to help me ouut here?

Not much help but I had he same prob. Mangled the crap out of the bracket and then bought another one and went crazy with the welder. Mine before and even after the bracket episode makes a squeaking sound.

Clutch is an Ogura twin with a very heavy pedal.

Same issue different sort of car, as bob said try wd40 on the pivot point that usually does help but does usually come back after wd40 wears out

    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?

    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
