G'day,

Hoping someone can help me with my heating coil (ie. for the heating/air-conditioning unit).

It started leaking on the weekend and today my mechanic managed to fix it temporarily by bypassing it altogether.

My question is: does anyone where I can get a replacement heating coil for my R33?

Know the part number?

Anyone even know roughly how much one should be?

But, perhaps most importantly, does anyone know how to put it in??????? :elaugh:

I'll give up a slab if anyone can help me put in...once I manage to get hold of it. :D

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I dont know what theyre like to do on R33's but the 300ZX ones are an absolute bastard to get to. You have to take the entire dash out to get to it. Took my mates workshop a day and a half to do the job, nearly $800 in labour.

If you REALLY want your heater to work then id say try and do it yourself. Anywhere you take it is going to charge quite a bit in labour to do the job.

I presume its the heater core your talking about right? Its leaking water inside the cabin? and thus causing the car to overheat?

    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
