Hello there,

i wonder if you can help me .

R32 GTR drag situation - Sunday driver.

No ABS - all attessa bits still in place.

Have a cluey mate as a auto spark but cant get Attessa to work. He believes its because there is no ABS- we have also got a EMS ECU and the engine management is good.

We have all the other inputs sorted out TPS Tach etc.

We were thinking of using the existing Hydraulic pump for the attessa and doing away with the g sensor and wheel sensors etc and electrically stimulating the pump via a variable resitor of sorts.

Some people simple pump it up, but can you still split the tourque between front and rear at what % you want using a guage or will it be full lock or nothing.

I would like to still be able to use the factory set up minus the ABS but if this cannot be done then what can any one suggest? This is the only thing stopping us from doing some runs.

many thanks

:D

As to why the attessa isn't working, well, it might be that the abs (eg - wheelspin) sensors are missing too...

Just getting the pump to work - from what I can work out (from wiring diagrams), its contolled by a a single solenoid. I'm not sure if there is any other imput (computer, etc) to give the torque split, however.

I __PRESUME__ its a variable duty cycle @ full voltage, but hey, guesses are guesses.

If so, it could be switch controlled with some simple eletronics... but I'd be curious about pulse width.

Meh - I still havn't wired up mine yet, so its easy to give advice and not have to take it.

Yeh i know what you mean - its a road that not too many have taken. Will look into a bit more in the next days and see where i end up.

hey snotass

It has been done sucessfully by nissan. the r32 gtr N1 had the ABS removed, dont know if you could get your hands on an N1 wiring diagram to work it out.

The pump maintains system pressure independant of the ets soleniod the pump runs even when FR torque split is 0/100 when sitting idling the pump cuts in and out briefly.

The n1 had a different ATTESA computer, not sure what the differences are. Plugs straight into the standard loom, you lose ABS but ATTESA keeps working.

unless you have rewired it the standard ATTESA unit will not run without ABS unit in place. I think T04GTR might have had some luck with ATTESA/no ABS.

my car came with no abs but the attessa is working still.....from what i can see the pump at the front of the car is gone and brake master cylinder looks different as well.

just a thought would the attessa ecu from the 3 generation GTR's be compatible with each other?

I am not sure - all i know is that i need to get this unit working as this is all that is stopping me from doing a run down the 1/4 mile.

Could you please explain where and what you computor came out of , would nt mind trying. I am going to to get hold of T04 GTR and see if he or infact any one can help as i have nearly gone bald with pulling my hair out. surely some one has done this ------- NO ABS - after market ECU - non plug play- G sensor and Attessa units still in place - fault code 18?

I am using a EMS 8860 and there are parameters to stimulate the pump via this - but would rather use existing units.

regards

    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
