Hmmm, wonder how much transport would be....... they dont like free moving parts in the car when in transit.

ahh ok ive got those pics saved, so I can see what it looks like.

witht the link to your mod list, the bits that need repairing, whats been done??? anything else changed??

oh yeah tangles, i knew you meant $95k. is that cause its not for sale or is that legit???

lol

can be for sale, hehehehe, in return tho Id like to be out of my house debt!

hence the 95k comment :)

I paid just under $400 by memory to ship the stagea from Brisbane to Adelaide, via Adtrans

ha ha good point. lol.

$400 thats awesome. I got done 1000 even to get mini from QLD to Perth.

Yeah the heater core blew just after I bought it and I have a replacement to go in, but it is a hell of a job, so waiting till I can go to brisbane for a couple of weeks and use a mates workshop to get it done properly.

And the handbrake assembly just needs to be rewelded to the floorpan.

Other then that, all she really needs is a bloody good power tune really. I had it down tuned for economy just before I moved from Brisbane to rocky to try to save on fuel.

So yeah I am preety happy with the down tune, it still goes like a rocket, but would be MUCH better off with a really good power tune, I was thinking of getting a fuel pressure regulator to squeeze what I can out of the stock injectors and aim for the 220awkw mark, which is what is was about on when i down tuned it.

ahhh fair enough. im just thinking cause if i brought it over, everything has to work. otherwise it wont pass the pits. so heaters and all that must be working. thats only issues id have.

And because she has a Power-FC in it I was going to take her to Matty Spry, of P.I.T.S. on the gold coast, as he is the "Power-FC" whispherer, I know heaps of people who have taken their cars to him and he always gets the best result, and has been doing it for years and years, and knows his power-fc's inside and out, plus many other aftermarket ecu's.

Problem is that the tune would cost ~$1000 for me, ($300 for petrol return trip from rocky to GC, ~$700 for the tune) But I thought why do that until I have a z32 afm, which are ~$250, and then why not wait till I get bigger injectors, ~$300, and blah blah blah, and when you have a family and a tight budget, those things arent exactly going to happen anytime soon.

So just been living with it and tossing up wether to sell it or keep it for the long run. Well it looks like the long run means that those basic mods are a fair way away, as my family and I really want to buy a home, which means we spend no money on the car until we get one, and then we might. But atm the bank loan repayments are the biggest killer to our budget, so sell the stagea, and buy a home is what I will be trying to do in the next 6-12mths.

Obviously I am not going to be trying very hard to sell her because I really do love her, but I love my family more :)

Oh I'd have the core fixed and the handbrake fixed before I sell it for sure!!! If I had a buyer right now give me a deposit, I would take 2 weeks off right now and go down to brissie and get it all fixed, simple :)

ha ha hint hint nudge nudge.

well you've given me lots to think about. ill have a sit down. do a budget and see what i can come up with. what sort of deposit would you need to get all that done?? im just thinking there wouldnt be much point getting a tune done if it didnt get the z32 AFM and larger injectors. so could that be done same time???

i know what you mean with loans and the like. family is always first. numero uno.

well F@#$ me. i leave my thread all nice on friday arvo and by sunday its turned to shit lol.

well that through my plans to the dog house didnt they. cheers nympho. ha ha. nah all good. just means i gave way for all the boys to get another girl on the forums, for them on cruises. i know she has a boyfriend, but thats minor details. lol

well thats gunna make thing a bit different. hmmm, do i head for the 32GTR or stick with trying to find another stagea???? any suggestions. that yellow one is nice, but the silver series 1 has sun roofs and leather interior. leather doesnt stain,,,(should have thought of that nympho) lol. oh yeah, the black ones suspension is stocko.

apparently they have a red one for sale, all kitted up with rims also. also has sun roofs i think. so maybe.

otherwise i might get them to slap on some rims and lower the series 1 silver one, and ill take that.

decision decisions.

formula cars in wangarra always has stageas there in good nick and for a good price if ur still after a stagea

thanks elle smith. lol. umm yeah ill still be looking around. maybe going as far as rockhampton in the sunshine state to get one.

anyone know who has the quickest stagea in WA???? my guess is brad but his aint running. any others???

he he just rang formula cars. they've had one come in, and they trade it. he he

Big fan of SKA's car hey.

AMS (chris fro Advanced Motor Sports) is who i got my kit off. He deals with Monkey warehouse and im very happy with both the price and quality of my kit. Paint will have to wait seeing as im paying for Jays stagea in the next couple of days, but oh well.

I got a full Nuismo style kit from AMS. Fit brilliantly, no qualms.

seems to be my best option. a premodded stagea. manual. reliable power. but yes a kit will follow once im done. not sure whether id get a motor built first.

i was gunna say, you keeping your old stagea too. very well done indeed.

Well I'd prolly be after a 10% deposit, ~$2500, that would be more than enough to cover the cost of repairs.

About the z32 and injectors, you are probably better off waiting till you get it and then buy them and have it all tuned somewhere where you trust over there? Just I dont mind doing it, but am very warefull that you would be paying for all the parts and the tune, and if it does not get the outcomes you were expecting then there might be a slight cause of friction between us, where you could claim that you didnt get what you paid for and want you money back and I would be like, hey I just did what you asked, and it would all turn into a really bad home & away type plot-line :)

I am just biased and would really love to see what Matty Spry could get out of it as I have never seen someone who live, breathes and eats tuning hipo cars all day 5 days a week :)

Also to drive it as is is pretty dissapointing, well to me it is, mainly because it used to have bucketloads more power than what it has now, because of the down tune, which is why I would rather wait until I get it all tuned up back to the power it had, then it really becomes impressive. That said, even with the down tune I still own nearly anything off the mark :(

But all in all, I know I am probably shooting myself in the foot here, but darrin just pointed out that you could import your own 260RS for ~$30k mark, but you would have to pay for it and then wait for it to arrive............. could be as little as 6 weeks, or as long as 6 mths, it all depends on a lot of factors.

But I would be more than happy to get it inspected by a RACQ station here and give you the full written report on the vehicle, in the condition it is currently in. Although those reports are not standardised and really rely on the experiance and point of view of the mechanic doing the report.....

Anyway enough of me trying to do the hard sell, have a look around and see what is there locally, but also keep in mind Gary1 (the previous owner of mine here on SAu) spent ~$49k to get mine to where it is now, and it was for sale for $30k just over a year ago and I bought it for $25k then.

I am basing my price on how much I owe the bank, or $25k, whichever is greater, and the bank loan is the greater atm.

So take your time, and get as much information as you need before purchasing anything ;) If you still like the idea of buying mine we can tak ethis to PM's to disscuss anything further, ok?

Haha so i could have a pair of twin ice green stageas...

one completely stock, with 15s and hubcaps...

And the other with 260AWKW, konis, $4000 of ICE, nismo kit, 18s etc....

At 21yrs old? not a chance. My old car is gone.... I wouldnt know which one to put in the shed and which to leave in the yard. Oh then theres the $$$.....

ha ah we were all dreaming lol.

no reason why you couldnt do it at 21yrs old, but the dollars factor does come into it a fair bit.

Jay has a bloody awesome Stagea going bloody cheap right now:

i have the facilitys to freight to WA cheap........let me know if anyones keen.

    • Well, apparently they do fit, however this wont be a problem if not because the car will be stationary while i do the suspension work. I was just going to use the 16's to roll the old girl around if I needed to. I just need to get the E90 back on the road first. Yes! I'm a believer! 🙌 So, I contacted them because the site kinda sucks and I was really confused about what I'd need. They put together a package for me and because I was spraying all the seat surfaces and not doing spot fixes I decided not to send them a headrest to colour match, I just used their colour on file (and it was spot on).  I got some heavy duty cleaner, 1L of colour, a small bottle of dye hardener and a small bottle of the dye top coat. I also got a spray gun as I needed a larger nozzle than the gun I had and it was only $40 extra. From memory the total was ~$450 ish. Its not cheap but the result is awesome. They did add repair bits and pieces to the quote originally and the cost came down significantly when I said I didn't need any repair products. I did it over a weekend. The only issues I had were my own; I forgot to mix the hardener into the dye two coats but I had enough dye for 2 more coats with the hardener. I also just used up all the dye because why not and i rushed the last coat which gave me some runs. Thankfully the runs are under the headrests. The gun pattern wasn't great, very round and would have been better if it was a line. It made it a little tricky to get consistent coverage and I think having done the extra coats probably helped conceal any coverage issues. I contacted them again a few months later so I could get our X5 done (who the f**k thought white leather was a good idea for a family car?!) and they said they had some training to do in Sydney and I could get a reduced rate on the leather fix in the X5 if I let them demo their product on our car. So I agreed. When I took Bec in the E39 to pick it up, I showed them the job I'd done in my car and they were all (students included) really impressed. Note that they said the runs I created could be fixed easily at the time with a brush or an air compressor gun. So, now with the two cars done I can absolutely recommend Colourlock.  I'll take pics of both interiors and create a new thread.
    • Power is fed to the ECU when the ignition switch is switched to IGN, at terminal 58. That same wire also connects to the ECCS relay to provide both the coil power and the contact side. When the ECU sees power at 58 it switches 16 to earth, which pulls the ECCS relay on, which feeds main power into the ECU and also to a bunch of other things. None of this is directly involved in the fuel pump - it just has to happen first. The ECU will pull terminal 18 to earth when it wants the fuel pump to run. This allows the fuel pump relay to pull in, which switches power on into the rest of the fuel pump control equipment. The fuel pump control regulator is controlled from terminal 104 on the ECU and is switched high or low depending on whether the ECU thinks the pump needs to run high or low. (I don't know which way around that is, and it really doesn't matter right now). The fuel pump control reg is really just a resistor that controls how the power through the pump goes to earth. Either straight to earth, or via the resistor. This part doesn't matter much to us today. The power to the fuel pump relay comes from one of the switched wires from the IGN switch and fusebox that is not shown off to the left of this page. That power runs the fuel pump relay coil and a number of other engine peripherals. Those peripherals don't really matter. All that matters is that there should be power available at the relay when the key is in the right position. At least - I think it's switched. If it's not switched, then power will be there all the time. Either way, if you don't have power there when you need it (ie, key on) then it won't work. The input-output switching side of the relay gains its power from a line similar (but not the same as) the one that feeds the ECU. SO I presume that is switched. Again, if there is not power there when you need it, then you have to look upstream. And... the upshot of all that? There is no "ground" at the fuel pump relay. Where you say: and say that pin 1 Black/Pink is ground, that is not true. The ECU trigger is AF73, is black/pink, and is the "ground". When the ECU says it is. The Blue/White wire is the "constant" 12V to power the relay's coil. And when I say "constant", I mean it may well only be on when the key is on. As I said above. So, when the ECU says not to be running the pump (which is any time after about 3s of switching on, with no crank signal or engine speed yet), then you should see 12V at both 1 and 2. Because the 12V will be all the way up to the ECU terminal 18, waiting to be switched to ground. When the ECU switches the fuel pump on, then AF73 should go to ~0V, having been switched to ground and the voltage drop now occurring over the relay coil. 3 & 5 are easy. 5 is the other "constant" 12V, that may or may not be constant but will very much want to be there when the key is on. Same as above. 3 goes to the pump. There should never be 12V visible at 3 unless the relay is pulled in. As to where the immobiliser might have been spliced into all this.... It will either have to be on wire AF70 or AF71, whichever is most accessible near the alarm. Given that all those wires run from the engine bay fusebox or the ECU, via the driver's area to the rear of the car, it could really be either. AF70 will be the same colour from the appropriate fuse all the way to the pump. If it has been cut and is dangling, you should be able to see that  in that area somewhere. Same with AF71.   You really should be able to force the pump to run. Just jump 12V onto AF72 and it should go. That will prove that the pump itself is willing to go along with you when you sort out the upstream. You really should be able to force the fuel pump relay on. Just short AF73 to earth when the key is on. If the pump runs, then the relay is fine, and all the power up to both inputs on the relay is fine. If it doesn't run (and given that you checked the relay itself actually works) then one or both of AF70 and AF71 are not bringing power to the game.
    • @PranK can you elaborate further on the Colorlock Dye? The website has a lot of options. I'm sure you've done all the research. I have old genuine leather seats that I have bought various refurbing creams and such, but never a dye. Any info on how long it lasts? Does it wash out? Is it a hassle? What product do I actually need? Am I just buying this kit and following the steps the page advises or something else? https://www.colourlockaustralia.com.au/colourlock-leather-repair-kit-dye.html
    • These going to fit over the big brakes? I'd be reeeeeeeeaaaall hesitant to believe so.
    • The leather work properly stunned me. Again, I am thankful that the leather was in such good condition. I'm not sure what the indent is at the top of the passenger seat. Like somebody was sitting in it with a golf ball between their shoulders. The wheels are more grey than silver now and missing a lot of gloss.  Here's one with nice silver wheels.
