Hi All,

I'm looking to upgrade the stock turbos on my R32 GT-R. I'm really looking for the best possible response and the least lag. Basically, I want to take the engine as far as I can without having to upgrade the internals. I'm sure this is a path that many have gone down before.

From what I understand, 500hp@the crank is about as far as you can practically go with a stock engine without seriously compromising reliability. Is this about on the money?

Given the above, what would be the best turbos to achieve this power level and deliver the best drivability? Are N1s still a good bet, or have they been surpassed by something more efficient from an aftermarket supplier? GT-SS, for example?

Finally, availability and price are also a consideration. Are N1s hard to find? Are similar-sized aftermarket turbos very expensive? And is there a cheaper option such as rebuilding the standard turbos to survive higher boost levels?

Thanks in advance!
