well on the weekend i went to change a timing belt on my new straight cefiro and it turned out that the camshafts had seized does any1 know if it is a common problem with rb20's as im putting another rb 20 in it and i like to know how likely it is that it will happen again

Exhaust cam?

Same thing happened to the RB25 in my Ceffy before I bought it, was caused by severe oil starvation (oil cooler hose popped off)... Could be the oil pump (if so the rest of the engine won't be looking too healthy) or maybe a blockage in the galleries, but to answer your question no it is not common.
