Hi guys,

I've got some new oil and water temp gauges that I want to fit. Now I had some HKS ones that I was using but they looked like crap so I bought some nice white faced Greddy's to replace them. Now I have dropped the coolant out to take out the temp probe.

I've pulled out the hks one and the damn thread size is probably 2-3mm larger in width than the greddy one (if you were to hold them side by side). Am I stuck here with the damn hks ones as the probe doesn't fit or is there another way around it?. I don't think thread tape/sealant is going to cut it :)

See picture below for where the probe screws into.

i had a similar problem, except i was trying to fit a Oil temp sender into a existing hole that was smaller than the sender. I made the hole bigger and tried to seal it with sealant (big mistake) but it couldnt withstand the pressure and oil seeked through.

luckily, i had a oil sandwich plate, so i just took it off and got the hole patched up by a mechanic
