I am in the market for some new rims for the Stagea and was wondering you all have sourced yours from?

Is it better or cheaper to import yourself from Japan (or elsewhere) if buying Jap brand ones, source locally made ones using BA Falcon fitments, auctions or wherever else?

Was looking at either Enkei BXM2 or RPF1 or 5Zigen Sports Engine SC300 or Pro Racer GN+ but have no idea where to source them from. Looking at 18" rims at this stage.

Last set of rims I ever bought was 17 years ago for an imported Mazda 626 coupe so have no clue how things work these days.

Cheers, Al

5ZIGEN FN01R-C's are the bomb

I just got R34 GTT wheels, too hard to choose some wheels I found.

Nice wheels you suggested Alex

Still the question though, where do you actually buy these things?

I like the mesh style or 6-spoke like TE-37s (without the price tag)

As for budget can go to around $2,000 for rims only although up to $2,500 if pushed but would prefer not to.

Are local wheels suitable for the Stagea?

Try the Business Classifieds here, JDM Concept and JDMimports usually sell new and used wheels here to forum members, and seem to be pretty knowledgable about the Stagea's size and offset details...

Most R32 and R33 GT-R wheel offsets should suit it fine, so it's just a matter of finding the style you want and fitting it in your budget...

Hi Alex

there were a few different R34 GTT wheels - for example my factory standard AVS ones on my R34 WILL NOT go on my S2 RS4S stagea (even though they both came with 17inch wheels) - the R34 ones are 8 inch rims and have a different offset - they run into the stagea suspension (I have tried putting them on, which is how I found out).... The ones on the Rs4s are 7.5 inch rims...

So anyone else, be careful..

Ian

Depends on what you want and how much you want to spend, I found a nice set of Koya's when I had to look for a set, but personally I love the look of 34 GTR rims on a stagea, but that is just me

no its not just you...r34 gtr rims looks sex on the stagea

Was at Bob Jane T-Marts today (having a look around) and they had RJR wheels, one of which was the ones in their latest catalogue, the RJR Graphic. These look pretty good for a standard mesh style wheel.

Does anyone know much about these wheels, are they okay (I know they are cheaper than the Jap brands and may not be as good) but they do seem okay for the price.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thinking of the 18x8's but with better tyres than the package has.

They also confirmed that fitment is the same as the BA Falcon

Cheers, Al

    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
    • thanks GTSboy. My confusion at the moment is i am trying to locate the ignition, ECU battery power and the ECU negative The closest thing i can find is the for the S15 on Page 8 of the Wiring Specialties web page https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9F33_M_GgENQnZ6STMxVmVNd1E/view?resourcekey=0-eZ4nNRwRoqa1qvKlWWHm8A I cannot find the same diagram for the R33 RB25DET Series 2 dash plug pin out.... Do you know what the Pins? or know where i can find the same pinout diagram for the RB dash plug? Thanks for the advice on the box... i like a 6 speed so might be on the lookout or the box now.. a topic of discussion for another post...
    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
