Hey guys,

I have spent a great deal of time building my engine and comming close to putting it back in. I have a GT35r with a .82 housing and the mods to back this up but wondering if it is worth spending the money on Nismo mounts or just get new standard mounts. Do the nismo mounts increase the amoutn of vibration due to them being stiffer?

Can people give me their advise (esp if they have them) as to which way to go as I don't want to be pulling the engine out anytime soon. The car will mainly be street driven with occasional track and show duties.

Cheers

Stock engine mounts are OK if you know what i'm saying. As in, they hold your engine there. They are rubber bushed, so they transmit less noise vibration harshness. That is, they're the all around compromise.

The most important thing to look at is the condition of the engine mounts. Most of them being 10+ years old, the rubber starts looking worse for wear.

Nismo engine mounts aren't that expensive when you think about it. A few hundred - when you think about it, you've spent a lot more.

Nismo engine mounts are still rubber insulated. They're more solid. They have a harder rubber, so they stop more engine movement. They transmit a little bit more nvh, but probably not too much.

I'd do the engine mounts if I had the motor out. check out the nismo box mount too.

I wouldn't change to a solid alloy mount (unless if it's only a track car or something), becauase those are harsh as a bitch. If you're drifting a lot, you'll probably need solid alloy ones, or at least new nismo ones, because the old ones will get torn up like a bitch.
