hey guys,

my friend just got a new r32 gtst(well not new but second hand new to him!)

and they put new front pads on it but i think they've stuffed up because when you brake more at slower speeds you can hear and feel in the pedal a cracking from the front 2 brakes. i looked at it with the wheel on but havent taken the wheels off yet and the pins ontop seem ok but theres these other pins around the bottom of the caliper on the inside on the rotor closes tot he studs... could it be as simple as pads need bedding in, although i got them pretty hot today just speeding up and jumpin on the brakes no change or just the pins arent in right?

thanks to anyone who has anything to help us out

cheers simon

Dont think pads need bedding in. Will be rotors that do!!

I suggest you take the wheel off and have a look!!

Also do note that some high temp pads will squeal a fair bit at lower temps..

But yea double check when taking the rims off..

Take a pic maybe?

gt-t_r34,

The only way to stop that I've found is to grease up the 2 top pins/slides as the pins with the antisqueel shims is the noise and feel your getting through the pedal.

Remove the antisqueel shims and the creeking noise will disappear, well it did for me. The squeel just before coming to a stop drove me mad so I put them back in and the creek noise and feel is back. :(

Grease them up a little, but over time the grease attracts brake dust and the noise returns.

Maybe new shims will do the trick?

Something I haven't tried is no shims with some pbr antisqueel glue stuff. Might do the trick.
