15 year old rule

hey all, great board u guys got going here. I've just got a quick question. do you guys think that the 15 year old rule (under new import scheme, you can import modified cars as long as there over 15 years old) is likely to change in the near future?

I'm thinking of getting a 89 180sx for next year, and i was told by geoff at prestigemotorsport that if i bought now, i'd save about 2~3k from buying in december, i could keep it in free storage till jan2004, and thus import it with all mods. however, i've also been warned by others that tha govt may change the 15 year old rule to say... 20 years. then i'd have a car in japan with a whole ton of mods, which i'd either have to sell (if possible), or have the compliancer in australia destroy =/

can you guys give me your thoughts on this please? thanks
