There are not many systems available for the sedans and most people have gone for a custom built one ( with mixed results ).

I did a lot of searching and as far as I know, the only companies that make off the shelf, direct bolt-on systems for the N/A R34 sedans are Kakimoto & Fujitsubo.

I'm getting one of these ( I hope )

Oh and as far as prices go, start from ~$700 for a custom built one to ~$1,200 for a Fujitsubo one.

And the question of stainless vs. mild steel comes down to your requirements and budget. Mild steel usually gives a better ( deeper ) tone than stainless but will rust over time where stainless will not rust and sound a bit more tinny. It comes down to choice.

And for the last Q, a cannon "is" a form of muffler but is designed primarily for flow with minimal restrictions. It's usually louder than a traditional muffler.

The science of exhaust systems is very precise but depends highly on what "you" want. Best thing to do is look and listen to what other's have and then when you find something you like, get the same. :)

yeah Im having trouble looking for parts for sedans.. most of em' are for 2Dr.

I was able to find one yesterday for an exhaust system and its made by XForce.. its a Catback exhaust sys. full stainless and I was quoted $1300 thats with the cannon. and $480 for mild steel with muffler. Thats a huge difference from mild steel to stainless steel.

Is XForce any good? :)

atm im starting to save up for my mods...

thanks for your help bro.. very informative :)

Firstly, I don't know much about X-Force stuff but I was almost certain that they don't make a cat-back to suit an "N/A" R34 sedan ! Might want to double check that it's not a "turbo" R34 sedan system..... You don't want a turbo system on an N/A. WAY too loud :(

Who you getting your info & prices through ?

I looked up the Xforce website and they gave me a number of one of the retailers and rang them. they told me that xforce has a stock for the R34 sedan.. im pretty sure that its for non turbo coz i mentioned to them its for a non turbo. :)

:)

I better get it soon or I'm going to go

yeah saw the jdm imports thread... major bummer.

was hoping you'd get it soon - i like the stockish twin pipe look. was very keen to see how it sounded/performed.

I'm sure I'll get it soon. The guys at Just Jap know that I'm hanging out BIG TIME to get my hands on this exhaust !! ( and they know why )

As for JDM Imports..... Unless Charles & Steve undo the damage they've caused "real fast", they can expect to spend the rest of their days looking over their shoulders !! They've made a few enemies and people don't forget those who've screwed them !

nice work...

any details on the exhaust from justjap? as far as i know the legalis r only comes twin pipe for the 34 sedan. any idea for a 33 coupe?

the db readings vs. power readings really take my fancy. 84db is perfect!

What details do you need ?

For your car the only ones I found are:

From Fujitsubo.

From Kakimoto.

I bet the Kakimoto one would sound tuff as !

ohh just wondering how much from just jap? and when is their expected delivery? etc etc...

Yeah I didn't find what I liked from fujitsubo nor kakimoto... i like my stock gtr twin pipe stock look, and quite liked the legalis r on the sedan.

wonder if the muffler is the same measurements from coupe to sedan (vice versa) and only differs in the length of the pipe from the cat to the muffler?

a big risk to buy... the hunt continues.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
