Heya my battery is on the way out and i'm wondering where to get a new one? The NRMA didn't have one the right size and told me to go back to nissan to find one. Anyone know where to get a trusty new one in Sydney preferrebly around the north shore area at a good price? thanks

No repco does not sell it either does super cheap auto barn etc... Bob jane sells them .. they sell them at one store in sydney tho ..

Edge cliff :|

So im pretty sure the guy I got my car from Joel (aussiecarcomplience.com.au, exciteautos.com.au) sells them .. let him know Nathaniel put you into contact with him and he'll sort you out .. last time i was there he had them good bloke so should look after you :domokun:

R34 batteries are shit hard to get.. I eventually had to "shape" my battery clamps .. took alot of "molding" but we got them on :P

I doubt that r34 batteries are hard to get at all.

with r33s, you need sealed batteries sicne it's in the boot. Even then, there are lots of varieties of sealed batteries, and there are many that fit.

With the last r34 that we changed the battery on, it just has a battery under the bonnet. Just whack any thing under there with the right terminal size. It's no biggy.

As opposed to r33s that requires sealed ones, with an r34, how much you want to spend is up to you. From $50-500

thanks for the fast repies! The guy from the NRMA had a ute full of batteries but none would fit without modifying the car because apparently the R34 uses a pretty big batt but with the narrow terminals or posts from a smaller battery?

Jap battery posts are smaller (thinner) than the ones we use in Australia (SAE). You can either modify the standard terminals (eg with a screwdriver, prise them open) to fit the SAE posts. Alternative is to cut off the old ones, and fit new terminals.

Battery sizes shouldn't be an issue. You can pick up plenty of equivalent sized batteries around here. Don't need to be as small as the stock battery either.

Spot on the money razor. Most jap cars (not the aussie delivered ones like camrys) used the small terminals. Hop down to battery world, and most batteries come in big or small terminal.

We're not in the ice age anymore where bogan terminal batts are the only thing on sale. NRMA usually have big terminal ones, but i'm suprised they dind't at least have some small terminal ones. Maybe they did, but they weren't big enough interms of cca.

At b82rz world, they have massive cca in small terminals. Look for amaron batteries - silver calcium low maintenance (maint free but not full sealed - no good for r33 in the boot) but they're a great battery.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
