i got it all fixed about a week ago. The only thing i need to do is make a round bit of metal to go over the lock mechanism so u cant stick things in it... they were not sure how i wanted it to look so they just tidied up the buggered lock and left it for me to sort out.

door & handle look like new now... all the little scratches that appear over the years are gone now. be nice to paint the whole car :D

MY Commondore was boken into near Therbaton a while ago, they broke the entire door handle off the drivers side, bent the metal back like yours, put a screw driver or something through the boot lock damaged the boot and so on. The repair cost was $1125 for everything that needed to be done, and during the repair I had them remove the boot lock and replace my boot end with one from a VX (no key lock), and remove the locking mechanism from the drivers door so the car is now entirely remote.

I assume my car will be broken into every time I drive it, if I come back and it hasn't been, it's a bonus. The place is full of motherf*&kers. I park in TTP al the time and have not been broken into there, was hit in the passenger side with a trolley which must have been intentional as it left a lot of small dents and scratches though.

this idea with the alarm addition in the door handle, whats it supposed to do? set the alarm off if someone lifts the handle? or if someone levers the whole handle out? if its the latter.. then if they have levered the handle out, you can basically assume theyd be getting into the car... and to do that they have to open the door once unlocked which would trip the alarm anyhow. am i missing something?

the sooner the alarm goes off the better, no? if the alarm started blazing after a theif had only JUST lifted the handle from the body, i would assume that about 30 seconds or so would be needed to remove the entire handle and find the door lever mechanism. that would feel like a LONG 30 seconds with an alarm going off in your face.

In most cases, the alarm wouldnt go off until the door is wide open and the thief is already in your car. from that moment, only 10 to 15 seconds are needed to grab wateva he/she wants or to do a quick search-and-grab.

in the end, you can never have enough security, even if this may be taking things a little too far.

on the other hand, if someone was going to break into your car to steal something they can see through the window, most of the time they just smash the window, grab your gear and run.

realistically, none of our cars are safe. even though some, like myself, keep their cars securely garaged when not in use, i can recall a few times when ive had to lose sight of my car for a while in public places. and a few seconds is all someone needs, be it with a screwdriver, hammer, or body filler .

someone broke into my mates 200sx in upark in rundle street...the alarm was going off for ages and when they came back to the car they saw someone looking through the boot....so they chased him bashed the shit out of him and waited for the cops we rekon its also tied in with one of the wreckers that might have told him about cos they saw the guy from the wreckers and he said your car might get brocken into tonight laughed then said he was joking...THEn a few weeks later we saw the both of em together at a club we were gonna fark em up but this was during him being charged so my mate thought that if we bash him again it might fark up the court shit.....the wreckers im talking about is Pulsar special.........ill leave the rest for you to figure out

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

A nameless Adelaide car audio joint was also busted providing the names addresses and security information on cars to less noble members of society immediately after car alarms were installed, resulting in regular breakins in the weeks afterward, it was only once they started breaking into cars the same night the alarm was installed that they were busted.

Our 5yr old 55kg Male Rottweiler that stands 75cm's high and is close to 40cm's wide is trained not to bite but to round up people, cats, other dogs with a two words....

Get em'....

Funny thing is he is like a big kid.

He enjoys his self so much doing it, as he looks back with a silly look on his face saying look Dad. Lol...

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
