dads lookin for a new car so on the weekend we went to go look at the 2.0L turbo Jetta which has the same engine as the GTI.

well i can tell u it does have balls lol

its pretty quiet and with the dsg box u can hardly feel the box change gears sooo smooooth

oh and if u have the window down with no raido u can hear the turbo spool a lil which is always nice

but yer it was a really good drive...nicest fwd ive ever driven

theyre pretty well built cars to and the 2.0L Turbo Jetta has a fuel consumption of 7L/100km which is pretty good seing its a paetrol turbo and the turbo diesel variant is 6L/100km

However my dad is very indecisive and is test driving every firggin car out there lol

anywhoo the GTI engine is very niiicceeee

Spot on! My old man has one of these. Great car to drive. The Jetta 2.0 turbo also has the same suspension setup as the GTI, so it handles pretty well too. But the GTI is obviously a smaller car so it will be more fun to throw around.

I've got two coupes (V35 and 32GTR) but one must go as I need 4 doors

That's why I'm ordering a GTi to get a 08 compliance.

Great car to drive and with the dsg it's awesome.

With a $2000 reflash power will go from 147kW to 187 similar to the MPS3

The MPS was a nice car but prefered the Golf

Yeah the DSG box is awesome. The launch control in sports mode is loads of fun, but it does take a bit of practise to get it right so you don't just end up spinning the wheels.

I ended up testing both the manual and DSG Golf GTI's earlier this week.

Both seem like awesome cars. It's very difficult to be caught in the wrong gear as the turbo comes on very quickly and early in the rev range.

The car is very refined and would be very suited to a family whereas my GTST tends to feel the bumps a bit more. That said the Skyline tends to be a little more involving though it was only my first drive in the VW with the sales rep sitting next to me.

The DSG box is awesome. Holds gears while accelerating until you change, it does however go back down through the box by itself unless you beat it to the down change. it is so smooth and imediate, in a way it reminds me of my first experience listening to Champ cars.

Anyway I definitely think it is on the cards however getting so little for my skyline is going to hurt. I was one of the silly ones who paid $31k for a standard model around 8 years ago. Oh well its served me well.

my boss just picked up his brand new gti today and took me for a spin

very nice little car, however with all his options, he paid 53g for it (leather trim, sunroof, in dash satnav)

i dunno that i could spend that much on one . .. .

My dad's got one, ive driven it a bit, its a fantastic car :)

Very refined, almost no lag (peak torque from 1900 to 5000rpm :D)

Great interior with awesome build quality, quiet and comfy, good at highway speeds, handles nicely, great potential for more from the engine...

Cant argue with that :D

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
