got advised when ordering the restrictors today from highoctane that they wouldnt run them in a 25det vct head

I told them how most of you guys are blocking off the rear feed and running one only up the front

and that my plan was just to run one in each however they still didn't like the idea

I'd really like to hear from anyone who's had them fitted for over 12mths with no dramas

Im fairly sure I'll have no drama's as a mates rb20 does three laps and fills his 600ml catch can over and over again

so seems like theres plenty of flow in the rb's

there not hard to fit.

get a soft punch, slightly smaller then the restrictor.

tap the standard restrictors down into the block,

and then carefully tap the new ones in on top of the standard ones.

done.

thanks dangerman always think of danger mouse when I see your name lol

Im fitting tomei inlet cam/adj cam gear and tomei 1.5 mm h/g at the same time as the restrictors so I wanna make sure I get it right hence mechanic mate

just because he is a mechanic, dont assume he knows everything.

past experience is worth 100x more then a educated guess.

keep that in the back of your mind and you will be fine.

If anything dosent look right, post it up on here and someone will help you thru.

when your putting your motor together and your keen to get it going,

dont guess / rush on something your not sure of, cause it could cost you dearly in the long run.

    • What Duncan said sounds right. Also, it looks like they only have the driver's mat. Not the rest. Because looking at the diagram: KG4911 is just the mat for the driver. KG4900 is the full set if I'm not mistaken and discontinued.   But, it looks like they may still have the full set for the manual S2. Might be worth checking for the other models as well as they seem slightly different. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6649-rb25det/misc/G49 Man, I'm tempted.
    • I dunno about that as a blanket statement. Pitwork is Nissan's "Nissan genuine" thing, and for stuff like timing belts, I have found them to be excellent. Of course, for things like oil filters, you always use proper trusted brands anyway, not whatever the OEM has taken to using.
    • Ahhhh... If you were putting 12V to the led in there, that's likely made it very unhappy. Chances are how you put power, was 12V across an LED that's meant to only have about 20mA through it at peak, and a forward voltage of about 1.8 to 2.4 volts. That circuit is likely only a 3V3 circuit, and will have a resistor in series with the led too. That's my guesstimate on that light, without having touched one.
    • Another vote for installing them and see how you go.  I mean, you already own them, why would you not fit them?
    • I have had too many of those over the years, my cars have a toolkit or at minimum a cheapy multi tool thing because its too easy to be snookered by some stupid plastic clip that stops you checking the battery terminal isn't loose.
