Heyy guys... I got my mechanic that does all of my performance to supply and fit a new original Bush Fuel pump… 6 months after I have installed it, a loud buzzing sound came form the pump.. On idol it would make one sound and as soon as I step on the accelerator it would make another sound… like 2 types of buzzing sounds... A few weeks later it gave way and it the pump stopped working… then I Installed a new Walbro fuel pump with I bought of ebay… 5 days after install… it stopped working. Its an Original Walbro fuel pump… I cant here the pump prime anymore….

I dont know whats going on........... some plz help! please!!..

What should i do

wiring might be worn thru the insulation somewhere and arcing or something. or the terminals that connect to the fuel pump might be bad or something. of course you might just have been real unlucky and got 2 bad fuel pumps in a row.

I'm guessing Foreign Object Ingestion- were you running filter/s on the intake side of the pump??

Cousin of mine at one time was doing autopsies on failed Bosch fuel pumps & 90%+ of failures were caused by the pump itself sucking up crap.

mine sucked up crap 3 weeks ago. started making sucking/straining sounds.

it's at bosch right now, waiting for it to get back to my mechanics. fk they take their time!

do you have any ideas to stop this?

like its been said above..check wiring especially grounding wire as they can come lose quite easily if someone has fiddled with it in the past.

Happened to me the other day. grounded it properly and the pump started priming again. maybe something to do with pumps but i doubt 2 decent pumps would fail on you until they arnt installed correctly.

if your curious.

the two sounds you describe is the fuel pump changing voltage, this is normal.

on idle the fuel pump control module reduces the voltage to the pump, to prevent noise and excessively heating the fuel, once you open the throttle it goes to full voltage mode, so it makes more noise.

Hey guy.. I donno why My bosh went But the reason why My Walbro went is coz My Mechanic Forgot to Put the Filter on the end of the fuel pump.. I had to remove my pump and have my hand in the tank for hours untill i realised that It didn't fall off.. he just forogt to put it on.. Well its either Him or his apprentice.. Anway, He Still claims that Filter is still in the tank and he wants me to drop the tank... I know for a fact its not in their and i dont want to drop the tank so I've ordered a New Walbro fuel pump ans i'm still waiting for it to come in...

there is a fuel pump relay, and also a fuel pump fuse.

fuse supplies relay, relay supplies pump with +12v.

so if you don't have +12v at pump, check those out.

the fuel pump control module supplies a variable ground/earth to the pump to control pump speed.

so it has nothing to do with that, if its only +12 supply you need.

      ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..

      Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.

      Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?

      I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
