The use of other fuel types may lead to vehicle trouble or failure. Please note, any trouble or failure caused by the use of other fuel types, will not guaranteed free of charge.spacer.gif•The engine power output values indicated in this catalog are all net power output values.

•Engine power output can be indicated as 'Net power output' or 'Gross power output'. 'Gross' values are estimations of power output of the engine alone. 'Net' values are estimations of when the engine is assembled onto the vehicle. For estimations of the same gasoline engines, 'Net' values are approximately 15% lower than 'Gross' values according to JAMA research.

•Please use unleaded premium gasoline for this vehicle. If unleaded premium gasoline is inaccessible, regular gasoline can also be used, although it may lead to engine power output reduction.

<SI unit conversion value> The unit conversion for converting conventional power output unit 「PS」 and unit for engine torque 「kgm」 to SI unit is as follows. The value is indicated only as and rounded off to the nearest whole number.

1PS=0.7355kW 1kgm=9.80665Nm

Not sure why it did not copy properly but read the comments regarding net and gross power.

'Net' values are estimations of when the engine is assembled onto the vehicle.

I understand that to mean 353KW at the engine, but once the engine is installed in the car. So its still an at-the-engine figure, but the its not just the engine sitting on an engine dyno.

  • 4 weeks later...

"gross vehicle weight is 1970kg."

thats my ONLY Criticism with the car. value for money, performance etc - all amazing..but i dont see how this could be flung around a track at a car that weighs more than an AUdi A8....

sure its fast..but imagine how much faster it would be if it were 1400 - 1500kg...it would slay pretty much everything...

even with a "lightweight" version the max they are going to take off it is 100kg (see Superleggera and Scuderia F430 weight reduction)...its still not that much...

it depends..if its a GT Cruiser, that weight is fine...but i dont see many GT Cruisers with engines this small...

still..its getting the numbers...but the weight thing is the only thing bugging me about this car..

I'm sure you don't understand 'gross weight' means. :)

    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
    • For DBA, check out their guide table here. https://dba.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Direct_Replacement-Guide-2021.2.pdf   Additionally they have some other guides and info on how to make sure you choose the right pad.
    • Sorry, just assumed that talk of coloured pads meant EBC red/green/yellow/shit stuff. I don't know the DBA pads, but it's a reasonable bet that they will be OK. DBA make good stuff generally. Those 4000 series rotors I linked to are very good. I may well replace the RDA rotors I have with those when required.
    • The average previous owner for these cars were basically S-chassis owners in the US. Teenagers or teenager-adjacent. I often tell people that neglect is easier to fix than something that was actively "repaired" by previous owners.
