I have just picked up my rims from being painted gloss black, wanted powdercoat but the twat that blasted my rims used a coarse grade garnet and pitted my rims. The shop then used body filler to smooth off the imperfections making the rims unsuitable for powdercoating.

So, two pack black it is....

The complete process cost $55 per rim, although this does depend on size and complexity of design.

Oh, and Im in Mildura...a fair way from the city.

got pics of the pitting and the final product?

pitting would have to be bad to not allow powdercoating to work - powdercoat can be sanded and buffed like paint - but yes filling large depressions for powdercoating would be more costly than bondo.
