Definately use defuser..or depending on the place bounce flash might be OK too..but wont get that look in the photo you posted i guess...i'm interested in giving those gary fong lightsphere's a go.

Wouldn't go fixed lens either you're usually strapped from room if you are in a club and want some sort of versatility without moving people out of the way/having people walkk in front of you..ty

i dont know what nikon lenses there are but I think something in the 28-50 range would be good..if you're using a flash (which would be the majority) getting a fast lens isnt that much of a priority..unless youre using it for other things..
