Well unfortunatey I hit a roo this morning and damaged the LHF guard, smashed the light and some other bits incl the front radiator carbon fibre support. 60kmh 50 yards from holiday home....just jumped from a high block beside us in to my left headlamp.

Killed the eastern grey kangaroo unfortunately.

All the lining under the guard is damaged as well as the left parts of the rad support that supports the light assy. I think that will be a full replacement as not sure they can repair them.

Drove 300km home ok after the Racv guy used a crow bar to clear the wheel. No issues at 110kph so I am figuring all is well mechanically.

I am insured but I was wondering about parts and good repairers in Melbourne...

1. Can infinity headlights be adjusted for RHD.

2. Where can I point repairers for parts other than Nissan au....who say they do list the parts but have to import them.

3. Any good repairers in Melbourne who know these cars.

I am concerned more about availability of parts and quality of repair.

Sad day.

She still drives great and 100k so there is nothing mechanical and still gets 9l/100km at that. They are awsome cars to drive.

It was just one of those things the roo just jumped right into my left hand HID headlight. Left it's fur in there and buggered the globe as well.

Had I not just been 50 m from my other home but on the open road it could have been much much worse and the car would have probably been totaled. Fortunately the air bags did not go off.

Regardless of opinions I am going to invest in an ultrasonic shu roo device as I have one on the 4wd and never hit a roo ...I figure that would have may be been the only thing that could help. Second roo I have collected the other one at 90kmh and that one flattened itself across the entire front bumper of my SS with almost no damage to the car.

So glad it was not a person but sad for the roo as it had a very young joey in the pouch... and I am one of those folks not that happy about culling.

Thanks for your thoughts.

***** Hey ...Can the USA headlights be used for Right hand drive cars (I'd doubt it). $600usd in USA $5000au via Nissan go figure.

I wish they were and would like tom find out for sure first.

As Chris says the lights have a 15 degree offset to the passenger side in each country so that would mean the US ones would need to be ale to be adjusted 30 degres to the left. If they can then sweet it opens up a huge cheap market for us - $400 ea (plus shipping) rather than the $2500 each Nissan charge.

Can anyone confirm if this is possible please?

Hi I was in the process of getting lights from the US, and Chris is correct (is the guy ever wrong) about the 15 degree adjustment, so there is not enough adjustment on the US lights to stop them from pointing towards on coming traffic. The place that complianced my car confirmed this as well. Frank bought the 2006 lights on his car. He can probably provide a more detailed account of the upgrade.

cheers

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
