Looking at gettin a new set of bulbs for my liner....the older ones are starting to become less efficient!

What rating HID should i look at? (1000k, 2000k, 3000k, etc, etc) and is there a legal limit to how bright and whatever you can go?

also there are slight coloured ones? are there any colours that they sell that are illegal.....lookin at possibly an arctic white or ice blue or something like that.....

anyway..can u plz give me some guidance and experiences...

Cheers

Matt

is it 1000 is the brightest or 10000 is the brightest?

i am lookin at a 4000k set at the moment....

The brightest would be 4300k which is the same colour as sunlight. As you go lower than that, the colour goes yellow, up and it goes blue then eventually ultraviolet.

so closer to 10000 is the blue-ish look?

10,000k would be already purple as far as I know. I've got 6000k globes and they're a touch too blue for me already. In my opinion, don't go over 6000k at all. 4300k would be the best globe to get, but if you want a little blue to it, get 6000k. Anymore and you're getting shittier light output and having colour instead.

    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
