OK, towards the end of the cruise Friday night car developed a significant missfire, started out being 1st 2nd and sometimes bottom of 3rd (all under load).

So saturday morning gave it a service (new oil, filter, plugs) and it was all good for a day. Next morning on the way back from maccas it started to miss in 1st under load. Still doing it this morning, it's nowhere near as pronounced as it was after the cruise and only does it in 1st gear if I mash the throttle hard.

Engine is RB30DET, splitfires, NGK plugs @ 0.8 gap (same plugs I always run), remapped ecu.

Next thing I'm going to try is a different igniter, mate has a spare at the workshop.

Anyone got any other ideas?

First off, thanks for all the replies and ideas! :)

Tried a different igniter yesterday, made no difference. Thought it might be a dodgy wire somewhere so went to swap coil harnesses. The little inside plastic bits of #3 plug disintegrated into the valley :(

Put spare harness on, #4 wouldn't fire *sigh* now at a stage where I have two non working looms, out came the soldering iron.

In the efforts to get my car back to the stage it was at before I started, I didn't really think I had solved anything.. only guess is it was the plug that disintegrated was already half dead and something was getting an intermittent connection.

All good now, runs like a dream :)

First off, thanks for all the replies and ideas!

lol, sometimes just talking aloud, hearing yourself speak (type?) can make things seem so much clearer hahaha.

Good to see your back up and running smooth again :)
