question,,, wats the difference between caster rods n tension rods?

also are these brand stuff any good?

http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=244517

or should i pay the extra 100-150 per item for jap branded stuff?

many thanks

For more lock, buy some tie rod spacers, worth about $20

For less body roll, buy some upgraded swaybars, should set you back around $450 for front and rear bars.

For more steering response, increase your caster, adjustable caster rods will do this, they can be had for $220-$400 depending on quality.

Oh, and tension rod = caster rod = radius rod.

There are more ways of going about these things, but I think these are the cheapest and simplest, so would be where I would start.

yeah it is better to get some decent castor rods (CUSCO, URAS ect as they have dust boots and far better rose joints $339 pair lifetime warranty) the xtra lock spacers from uras are about 19 bucks and the whole arm if you want to upgrade are 239pair.

caster rods n tension rods are the same shit

and there nothing wrong with the d-project castor rods still as strong and does the job

but you will get what you pay for

as for more lock as said already tie rod spacers,

although from what ive heard the 32s streering racks are shit

and you get shit all lock from them, as well as that you can only go so far

befor your wheel started rubbing on your castor rods

first i would get r33 lca which are longer then the r32, cheap upgrade that will help stop your wheel from touching

your castor rods so you can get more lock not to mention more camber

then a S14 steering rack give much more lock then the r32s, and ive heard they fit into the r32s (not 100%sure)

Don't cheap out on GOOD front tyres.

Talk to Mo about swaybars if hes still at GT.. last time I asked he could do them for about $400 for whiteline adj 24mm/27mm

btw that picture of deans face is almost hypnotising :)

I don't think that swapping the steering racks would have any benefit unless you planned on doing work on the inner guards to give more clearance. With the stock rack and tie rod spacers, I have had a couple of scrubbing problems with the front inner guards.

hahah dean ftl

yeah he no longer works there, but that sidney kid bloke sells em for 220 each i think it was so meh, its only 40 extra...

IMO the right anti roll bars are essential and for those you need to talk to SK - Gary .

Also I'll be blunt , I think you can buy much better than the Jap name brand stuff namely the Whitline/Bilstein kit parts .

No guess work involved , buy bolt align handle .

Cheers .

I found that installing adjustable solid tie rod ends gave me better steering responce (that is tighter and more lock at full lock)

As well as adjustable solid castor rods.

Have had the ones from justjap for about 2 years with two track days and never had a problem.

Those sway bars will make a big difference!!

Which brand? JJR or the other jap brand just jap supply?

PS sway bars coming tomorrow :D

Rose jointed tie rod ends will only give you better steering response if your old ones are well and truely rooted. They can not give you more lock, you need different tie rods for that, namely different rack ends to add lock.

The adjustable tie rod ends are adjustable for bumpsteer, they can help when your car is too low and has too much bumpsteer, but the better solution is to raise the car up so the rest of your geometry isn't screwed either.

I also found polyurithane bushes help steering responce. The stiffer bushes stop some of the flex in the OEM rubber ones, which, especially in a car as old as a 32, are likely to be perished and soft as.

just a thought.

ok guys

tien hr coilovers

front sway bar set to soft on front

rear sway bar set to hard on rear

rear cradel bushes set to 'overall performance'

front tire pressure set to 37psi

rear tire pressure set to 45psi

nismo 2 way

car handels like a fkn dream!

butttttttt sucks when u try go full lock (which is poor) especially trying to scando, steering response is slow

but these 2 will hopefully be changed soon

    • Hey everyone! Im so grateful to be apart of this community and ill do my best to be apart of this. Firstly, i'm not disclosing my real name due to in real life circumstances surrounding my privacy and public image (sorry lol) Secondly, The only thing personal I am willing to share is that I'm from Sydney and a descendant of one of Sydneys largest mortgage firms. I got gifted my first ever car, a 2022 Porsche Cayenne and I love it to death. Ive been driving it for about 5 or 6 months now and honestly Im so grateful for my parents for gifting me this vehicle. However recently I've been working my ass off to afford my second car (which I need help deciding soooooo community help me out please?). Once decided, im planning to try modify it myself. Recent I've been thinking about getting a Skyline, particularly a 25GT or GT-V, yes I know overrated as hell, but I'm also considering a Chaser which I recently came to love. However my dream is to one day own a 180SX (So hard to find clean versions and im not really into importing).  Lastly before I send this off, I want to apologize if I sound tacky or pretentious. I try not to and want to genuinely learn from everyone and anyone. (Im no expert in this area) Thanks for reading!
    • I've got three stashed away but it's starting to get silly with the prices
    • Got the rear subframe in and back on its wheels, also fitted the motor.
    • Don't think I even need a super charger to be honest. Moving to a G35-900, would easily go over 500kW and also come on earlier. Bosch Motorsport ABS would be amazing, and weld in proper side intrusion bars. I feel unsafe in the shit box on the street. Way too many numpties where I live, accidents daily.
