Track Day At Morgan Park, Or Skidpan Day Near Brisbane?

Hi all,

I'm recently back on the scene so to speak after a significant break from having a decent car and I don't know anyone who does anything fun anymore. So, is anyone organising (or does anyone know of) track days going on around Brisbane or within several hours drive? Preferrably Morgan Park since QLD Raceway is really not the most interesting track out there. I'm also interested in skidpan days or other related fun type events. I'm going down to Winton in May for an EXE track day and I strongly suspect it will entirely rekindly my fire as far as wanting to carve up the tarmac goes, so yeah. Motorkhanas, hill climbs, time attack mountain runs, offensive driving courses... anything fun and legal :D

Who's doing something interesting within a few hours of Brisbane in the next few months?

www.timeattack.com.auis your friend. see other thread, paul has a day 25th March (Tuesday)

Also Saturday and Wednesday sprints at Queensland Raceway.

      I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).

      Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.

      The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.

      Welcome.  Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here.   If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland.  Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you.   P.s. nice 32 😀
