Hi all, new to these forums, new to Victoria and new to skylines. Im saving for a GTST R33. Im on P plates and know that you arent meant to drive them, but im on QLD plates and i could legally drive it there. My permanent address is still in Qld as im just studying here. Do you think if i were pulled over for driving it they would let me off after seeing my license? Also anyone from the geelong area? When I get my car I wanna find someone to go cruising with.

Awesome, crack in the system wins. So i technically dont even have to have P plates up? means less attention for my car. Again anyone out west of melbourne? Sucks cause last year i lived in burwood for 6 months, and lived around all the places you all keep mentioning you cruise around.

Edit - When I get the car (and money) I intend on joining Sau

If you are required to display P's in QLD you'll be required to display them here.

If they find out that you're studying here (ie: staying longer that 3-6 months) then you will be forced to obtain a VIC license. You'll be a lot better off buying a car in QLD and having QLD rego, VIC cops would be less inclined to hassle you, due to the paperwork involved.

if you keep your car stickerless, put a decent quite exhaust with actual mufflers not cannons, keep it at a sensible ride height, no stupid BOV and you don't drive like an idiot or have 15 dudes in your car then you should be fine... even if they do pull you up if they see you have the right attitude and are trying to do the right thing they will probably let it slide

if your car stands out and gets lots of attention don't complain when its the wrong kind of attention... and can we stop having these threads now?

Thanks for the warm reception guys. Sorry to bring up another thread, dont mean to be a whiny P plater. Im not required to wear them in Qld as I had my license before the date of new laws. Unlike Vic there was no restrictions on P platers before then. Thinking about getting it registered in Qld. Thanks again, this is an awesome site with so much info. WIll prob be on here a fair bit as getting a new (and decent) ride is about all I think about in my spare time.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
