Hi all!

The other day when i started my car it was more of a pig than usual when cold. I kind of fobbed it off and just thought she was having a bad morning and sure enough, got to temperature and all was fine... however every cold start after that (3 starts) it got worse and now it wont even start. I haven't done anything to it the last few months. The last thing i did do was replace the spark plugs about 1000km/s ago so doubt its anything to do with that. Anyway i have probed the ECU with NDS and i get code 55 (no errors) and i can’t for the life of me figure out what’s happened. The last time it started it wouldn't even idle, it would stall, but start straight up again. Foolishly when i got time to do some diagnosing this week i hit the reset ECU function in NDS and since then it hasn't started. Now i don’t know if that’s related or whether it wouldn't of started any way. I have checked AFM’s they seem fine, i have checked as many hoses as i can, i have checked coil packs (splitfire 2000k/m old)

It gets a bit of a kick when trying to start. There is a faint smell of fuel as well.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

On another note I’m looking forward to watching the R35 GTR this weekend in Targa TAS... i'll grab a few snaps!

Cheers

Andrew

your igniter plug has worked loose due to the fact you did not plug it back in correctly when you did the plugs. Now your plugs are fouled due to trying to start it. Replace your plugs again and make sure the igniter plug clips home properly.

Ha! DiRTgarage, i think you're spot on! I didn't think about pulling the plugs out becuase they were so new.... a little digging round and i found that i i had forgotten to earth something... not sure what it was but i definately forgot to earth something near the ignighter. So i pulled 2 plugs out and they are both as dirty as 2 dollar (you know what) They are as black as black! Damn they were $27 iritop 7's too. I'll replace tomorrow and let you know.

Cheers,

Andrew.

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
