hey all, i finally got a pic of my new drifter onto the puter,

its a 98 wrx sti 4door, me and dad got one each, there still awd at thee moment but soon to be rwd,

dads has a lil bitof work, mine still stock except i took thee exhaust off to see how loud it would get

all they really need is h/duty clutch, coilovers, maybe diff, rwd and should be ok drifters, theeey aree quite light and have a real close ratio gbox

that looks way older than a 98...? I thought the 98/99/early 2000 models fit in the my99 group styling and were the last before the shape was changed..

yea they are quite quick cars i prefer the look of the 96 - 98 models cant stand the bug-eye ones

Seems like a bit of hard work, when you can buy cars already set up rwd... but gotta love the wrx's sound

yeh it a bit diffrent, it actually not too eexpencive to make rwd, maximum motorsport doees it, and if theey dont work out drifting, i still havee the r32 and can use the scooby 4 rally

Nice project tho. Very unique. Let us know how it goes, there are a few D1 teams drifting them, but nothing over here that I have seen.

Sam, i have a set of coilovers that will suit the rex and are firm enough to slide with. They have only done about 4000km since new. I took them off the car as it was too uncomfortable to drive on the street. If your interested, PM me.

what are you going to do about the gearbox?

slamming gears, clutch kicks.. the wrx gearbox won't like that at all.

hey brad i might be interested ill let u know,

the wrx isnt registered coz it has been imported as a race/rally car only, they can be registered as rally veichles tho,

i dont think the gearboxes will last to long but they shouldnt be that expencive as jap wholesalers have heaps of bits and bobs,

i have a few vids of me slydn it through the bush in awd and will try and upload them to youtube soon

Should be alright for a while tho, I'd assume that running rwd would be less strenuous on the box
