I have installed the manualised shift kit in my 33 a few months ago and I love it. My only dislike is 3rd (having no engine break).

Apart from this its insane. One of my mates recently decided to buy an auto over a manual purely for this setup.

who else has it and what are your likes/dislikes.

when you say manualised do you mean complete manualised auto? eg ratchet shifter, have to shift every gear just without clutch

or are you talking about just the valvebody for harder shifts?

Its actually a combo of both. I have the valvebody mod plus I have a the black box from MV which is basicly fully manulises the auto.

And yes I have a rachet shifter.

if you dont mind me asking how much was this setup? did it take much to install and get running? any pictures? how do you find it? what shifter are you using? etc

im very interested in running this setup but its hard to find people using it.

being in brisbane i cant get mv autos to install it. would it be difficult to do yourself?

cheers

There are some pics of my setup in this link, and others aswell.

I was lucky enough to get my full kit off an sau member who was selling off cheap. I got the whole kit for $560. Insalation is easy, when MV send out the parts they give you simple easy to follow insructions. It took 3 hours to put my whole kit in and I have never touched an auto tranny before.

The end result is a mega hard shift and instant responce, as soon as I select the next gear it engages, not like the standard shift where it lags for a half second or so.

at what rpm do you shift up gears?

At what ever you like, it is a full manual without a clutch now.

For daily driving it will be low rpm changes, and if I choose to put my foot down I can hold it as long as I want, as soon as I hit the shifter it engages the next gear.

did you install both(the black box & manual valve body) at the same time?

i meant to ask at what rpm does just the manual valve body change up gears WOT

and if you got any incar footage mainly showing shifting of gears, please post. very interested to see how it goes.

Yes I installed both the black box and valve body at the same time. You can run just the valve body and let the stock ecu do the shifting for you.

I don't have any incar footage but I will record some on my phone, PM me your mobile number and ill send it tho you.

yeah videos would be nice

so the actual valvebodies are about $350 usually if i remember correctly. how much are these black boxes?

a b&m shifter you could pick up for around $300ish also i guess. so its looking to be around $1000 all up if you install it yourself.

got any pics of the installation of the black box? or a copy of the instructions so i can see whats involved?

might be time to give mike a call

Here is the link to a video of my ratchet shifter getting used.

The switch to the right of the shifter is 4th gear, which is usually the o/d button on your stock T-bar.

Cheers to my brother for the camera work lol.

Let me know what you think.

A couple of my old school mates work at mv's and one of them was the previous owner of my skyline. My car has a stage 2 shift kit (massive hard shifts lol). My car only has basic mods but will jump sideways and chirp into second.

As mine used to, but im having problems with my AFM at the moment, so im half throttling until I fit the new one.

I picked one up tonight so I should be able to drive it hard again.

nice work. shouldnt that be the otherway around tho? pull back to shift up and push forward to shift down?

Yer it depends on the shifter.

I got mine off an sau member though, so maybe he chose to get the one that is the push forward to shift up type.??

Ne way I love it, and once I have my new AFM I will be able to fully enjoy it again.

Leave some feedback on the video too

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
