Hey guys,

I'm sick of my maccas job, and I need something different. After working for such a big company for so long, I want to find a job at a small place where they will treat me like a person, and not a number.

I can work from 5-5:30 (earlier if I dont need to have a shower before hand, I'm an apprentice mechanic) to about 9:30-10 Sunday-Thursday, 5-5:30 to when ever on Friday, and all day saturday.

Any ideas guys? I REALLY need a new casual job!!

Rhys

try serching catering companys in perth......... most are very understaffed and offer work on sundays which pays usually 20+ an hr and alot will do it in cash....which means no tax man ripping ya off which= more $ for the line.......

^ +1 for dodgy asian style cash jobs too...

seriously man look into retail but the thing is they don't offer after hour kinda shifts, umm... heard like night shift guys get alright money at like COLES/KMART and those alike, give them a shot...

my mates used to work late nights at KMART in year 11/12... bought their first cars with that cash

haha like the dodgy asian idea as well :P

n bit off topic but isn't that a uras kit on pottsy's 34 andrew??

rhys try askin woolies? i heard they pay like 17 an hr n some even said they get 20 an hr :(

but if u wanna stand there all day hearin the beep why not?

lol, are you trying to shut down my ego Leo?

he has a nice URAS kit that's painted with no scratches...

my car is going to AutoSalon next year, hope so anyway... wait and see...

and by they way Rhys, i have HEAPS of family that have work for you, the pay probably isn't as good as Maccas though and not as close as it is to your house...

and the work won't require for you to have a shower beforehand... might be preferred though, let me know if you're interested anyway

ANDREW!!! STOP WHORING UP MY THREAD!!! :P

Leo, dont your not helping either...

Kylie, I looking into that job, but it looks like its mainly during the day? Thanks anyway.

Andrew, any more details? Like I said, I'd prefer to work in a small place.

I have 2 jobs atm, my apprentiship is at a small workshop, and maccas. I get treated MUCH better at the small shop, then the larger money making business.

Cheers for the replies guys, I'll look into it

i used to work at the iga distribution ware house (same as the coles job kylie posted)

its good pay but boring a hell, basically you get given a forklift and a head set, and it tells you how many boxes of something to stack on a pallet

then you wrap it up in gladwrap and dump in in a truck

its a repetitive cycle that makes you go insane thats why they pay you well for it :P

"go to isle 23"

bay number 67 alpha

pick 3

bay number 128 charlie

pick 2

bay number 238 foxtrot

got to isle 27

bay number 147 kilo

pick 7

alllllll day

I work this job(the coles one), we don't have headsets, just labels... headsets are coming in at the new dc which Im not going to till septemberish.

There are different roles, what Karl described is what the pleb pickers do....

Like I said last time RHys, those rates are base rate, grocery has incentive on top.

Im doing Ok compared to other guys on the fork, but still get an extra $300 a week cause I do my job properly and don't bludge.

if your lucky enough to get the shifts you want i know that Bunnings pays very well about 2-4 bucks extra an hour than youd earn at any supermarket store ie coles. Also theyre open sundays obviously so you have more room for extra shifts if you want.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
