Connecting Led Series 1 Light

Hey people,

I have a series 1 r33 and i just recently brought the LED strip for the rear wing and i noticed that i may be missing the piece of wiring that goes from the led strip to the wiring that comes out just near the boot strut, would it be ok to just cut the plugs and wire them straight together? Also if this fails (wiring is faulty somewhere down the track) would it be ok to wire it straight from the brake light (hot plate) ? or would this be a different voltage etc etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i wouldnt have a clue, but i would expect the leds to be 12v, so if you spliced into the main brake light wire it should be ok.

It should be just a 12/14v feed, But the only way to know for sure is to get someone that knows what they are doing to take a look at it.

screw it ill just wire it up to the rear lights and see how we go, i brought the led second hand so who knows it probably doesnt work,

I plugged it into the cable that was hanging out near the boot strut, but no action so im guessing the wiring is dodgy, it should come on when i brake no matter if i have lights on or off shouldnt it?

correct. Also if its LED's the lights will only come on if the wiring is around the correct way. an easy test would be just to touch the two wires to the battery.
