Ruby, its probably not worth my time repeating this again, but

Meeting this Sunday afternoon at Aussie Pizza House - West trc (just up from the BP) for those whose cars will be ready for Autosalon. Time can be negotiated but I was going to suggest 1:00pm

Please come ready to plan the display, and pay your entrance fee.

Those who might have a car ready, and want to enter can you please PM me, (you will need to decide and pay by next Sunday 20th July). At this stage we only want people who are definite, and any others will be a welcomed bonus later on.

Confirmed entrants that I know off at this stage are:

Myself - 4 door 33

Craig - 33 Coupe

Aaron - aqua 32?

Shane - GTR?

I don't see where it says here you have until the 25th to pay. Autosalon need the cheque by the 25th, hence why the latest for the MAYBE's is Sunday the 20th (time for me to collect forms and money and post them off with a cheque to ensure they make it by the 25th)

At the end of the day (Sunday 13th) we didn't have 6 cars, and I hadn't had any PM's or phone calls advising that people would definitely enter but couldn't attend the meeting (This includes you)

Since joining you have posted so much BS that even now I doubt you are sure if you will or won't enter autosalon, and I wasn't prepared to put my money where your mouth is.

By all means enter your car as an individual and show us all how it should be done, but at the end of the day the car isn't up to Autosalon standard (nor were most who would enter an SAU display) and is better suited to a club display than individual entry.

this is the reason why i dont want to do any more SAU displays. cause of this nonsense. there is still time to enter but rather then really really trying to encourage people to enter, the organisers are more or less throwing their hands up in the air and going "stuff it" there wont be an sau display instead of working through it and trying to find someone else.

too much unorganisation in my eyes.

my 2 cents

who cares about the Autosalon standard? in the end a majority of those cars are made for the judges, not for/by the people who own the cars.

also in the end you do up your car they way you want it to be.........not what everyone else wants it to be (hence why my 34 is the way she is) so if ur proud of ur car then by all means go and show it off at autosalon and be proud of what you have achieved........winning a trophy isnt everything........

Im here, what do you want from me? to put the Aristo in?? Sorry already laughed at that idea before, Dan(sinista) was "whinging" also but he's in Afghan fighting "our war"!! but sorry people, you burn your bridges the first time, dont expect others to come running now when they couldnt the first time,

Wheres the 10-12 cars you had last year?? Oh same place that the "whingers" are........

Ahhh deluxe, I knew you would be lurking here.... :(

The people from last year you ask??.... Daniel, Kye and Flick have sold their cars, I will be overseas, Matt is in the Army (possibly deployed) Cara is doing individual display and I imagine Ben(grim) will do similar, which leaves PK, sambo and Shaun.

Last time was based on those that had already had their cars on display for SAU previously... and a fine job of organising was done by PK and flick.

I was asked if I would enter and said Yes, simple. My car is no show champion and I still put it in even though my trim was not finished and I had no passenger seat. I made a commitment and I stuck to it.

It seems that is becoming too difficult for some.

And No, we don't want your oversize camry for display.... I'm still laughing.

Who wants to start a thread expressing interest for next year then? ..... 12 months might be long enough?

Peace.

^^^ hey Martin, no we will not be entering auto salon at all this year. Just gotten married an are flat out with other things at the moment. Hopefully we'll have our new project car finished for next years show...

Last years display was awesome tho.. apologies for not being able to comit this year.

Ahhh deluxe, I knew you would be lurking here....

I lurk everywhere......

And its taken you how long to work this out??

Camry......sweet thats the best ive heard, normally its a Lexen!! Besides there only one car show i do, and thats with NO club displays, promo girls, advertising, rice, and the rest of the bullshit that goes on........

Its taken alot longer to sort out a club let alone a club display, you best be making it 24 months

Oh dont worry my account will be canceled soon enough...... No more lurking!!

PLEASE ALSO BE ADVISED THAT WE HAVE TO HAVE OUR PAYMENTS/ENTRIES IN BY JULY 25TH

OTHER WISE THE ENTRANT FEE IS DOUBLED! cost per car in club display is $90 BEFORE 25TH JULY.

obviously we will haved to budget a little higher than that, for flooring/lighting etc.

I don't see where it says here you have until the 25th to pay.

:(

    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
