HKS Silent Hi-Power imo. i have a blitz Nur-Spec R and its fairly beefy too.

In all honesty man.. Its not going to make a huge diffrence in any aspect.

Sound will be the biggest diffrence and even that you can control with what pipeing you want to get.

My tip?.. DO NOT BUY X-FORCE!..

And have a look at second hand bits.. They are almost half the price.. and can pick up a brand name product for quite cheap..

Autobarn products are not fantastic. They are a designed as a "one product fits all".. and usually sound like a fat man farting in an epty can of beans.

you can get a cat-back exhaust custom made, mild steel with stainless steel cannon for 700, or less. They would be better quality than Autobarn products, and sound ALOT better, so +1 with what Cris says.

and whatever you do get it done by a certified place. so you can get a sound test at the same time and then they can do the neccesary modifications if its too loud. i just got done today for mine...not sure if itl pass as legal (heres hoping)

+1.. if your close.. Have a look at Castle Hill Exhaust.. top blokes..

Is NSW 90dB?

I disagree with you there, when I changed out my muffler (still on stock piping for now) I noticed that the car revved a lot easier than it did with the stock setup.

But would you call it a huge diffrence? Its not a completely different car, is it?

I completely agree with you that there will be changes in the way the engine revs.. of course.. or else there wouldnt be a point in change the exhaust system..

But the "noise" factor is alot more noticable than the torque/responce..

And forget about getting much of a power gain with an off the shelf Autobarn product.. thats what I mean..

Even if a second hand brand name product is about $400 odd dollars.. its money well spent.. you dont wanna be one of those tools whos car sounds like its an asthamatic..

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
